Yeah I live in hixson and me and my brothers saw a tornado somewhere around redbank. I was 1 so I barely remember and I never saw it because I wasn't tall enough to reach the window. That's my first memory. It was terrifying now that I look back on it.

@@iliketanks2438 after the outbreak, my grandma went down to Ringgold to see the damage and she said she was shocked. It was just destruction. It's a miracle you made it out. Chattanooga is right across the river but I still say we live there because it's literally like 10 minutes away. So I think I can day we did get very lucky that there were only weak tornadoes near the area. My dad was working down in lookout Valley in a place known as tiftonia where he and his friends got hit by an EF2. All made it out with no injury. Tornadoes are truly terrifying

I was there that day in Chattanooga. Paul Barys here saved lives by refusing to go to commercial and pinpointing with accuracy where the tornadoes were headed.

Paul Barys will always have my respect for this, man was recovering from heart surgery and he came in to work during all of this so that he could give the people information they needed and maybe save some lives through this crisis.

Without a doubt Paul Barys and his weather crew were the best in the business. I grew up watching Channel 3 and trusted them more than any other news channel. I remember being terrified when the April 2011 tornadoes raged through the South. I spent that day watching the newst and prayed and watched Paul. His calm voice, his early warnings, and his refusal to go to commercial probably saved a lot of lives that day

For the Chattanooga area, yes. James Spann is the best period.

I heard that a sign for a funeral home in Trenton, Georgia was later found in the Knoxville area.

I lived in between Ooltewah/Apison and Ringgold. The skies got super dark and I've never seen a storm quite like that.

I will never, ever EVER forget that day. Neighbors and us dropped everything that day and stayed together watching out of the windows/door and Paul. The map was like popcorn with the way the cells would pop up out of nowhere, drop a tornado, another cell pops up, repeat. Nope. I will never forget this day.

Seeing the picture of every house in that area being wiped just sticks in my head. How can wind produce such violent, yet widespread damage? You guys are lucky to survive that tornado.

I remember that day and how Paul guided us away from the storms. Much of our equipment and vehicles were damaged in Ringgold, Apison, Cleveland i still credit Paul with saving our lives.

I graduated in 2011 from Cleveland. I remember rather than celebrating, spending so much time doing cleanup around my neighborhood. Years of therapy later I’m doing better, however that was easily one of the darkest chapters of my life. I got so lucky- my house had minor damage. I just remember being glued to our weather radio all day with mattresses over our heads, pets herded into closets coming out in between rounds to see if our neighbors were okay. Emerald green sky overhead, shingles littering the streets we’d all gather in the street and exchange what little information we had, then head back into shelter for the next line. I’ll never forget it. I was 17 and that was the first time in my life I saw real fear on faces of people I loved. I got lucky. I knew too many who didn’t though.

Worked at Dupont Chattanooga at the time. I watched on weather channel on the computer while on night shift and was worried. That day is a day I will never forget. I live on Flat Top Mountain in Soddy. We had a EF3 follow the ridge of the mountain and destroy houses a quarter mile from my house. Was unbelievable. The lightning was biblical

Me and my wife were in Cleveland. Tornado put two trees on out home. Hole in the roof and tore the front part of the house apart and front roof off. Scared us both but made her afraid of storms from then on. Tonight April 13 2019 is supposed to be bad again. My little soulmate wife passed away Jan 3 2019 a few months ago so she wont have to go through it. Im glad she wont be scared. I hope this storm puts me with her. I miss her so.

I have an uncle and some cousins that used to live in Ringgold. Luckily for their home it touched down a mile or so east of their house. I lived in Lawrenceville at the time and was thankful the Atlanta area was somehow spared. The tornadoes that hit GA either split towards the mountains or more towards central GA like LaGrange, Griffin, Barnesville, etc.

It has to be hard to see this for Paul. He has to feel so defenseless. I remember watching this and feeling so horrible for people having to live through this.

I remember that! They said someone found several photos that turned out to be from tuscaloosa..that was a scary night. I was coming home from work and a tree fell over a bridge so traffic couldnt get through and all of us were just sitting there in the middle of a tornado warning because no one could turn around. It is kind of eerie looking back you could feel it in the air that day. We had an ef3- ef4 in November several years back..everyone here finally quit saying a tornado could not hit in the mountains
