They kinda remind me like a mix between the giant construct unit from Protoss mixed with a way too adorable looking caterpillar and it’s kinda creative but also so confusing and I can’t take it seriously - the other units looks pretty cool tho

One thing I'm noticing with all these races: There's a lot of soft pinks, blues, and greens. Which are nice colors and work together well - but it makes the races very similar, color-palate wise. This means it's more up to the models to help distinguish the races - and again, they're mostly soft organic curves. It's going to be very hard to tell some of these races apart in a fast-paced game.

@@PlayZeroSpace Hi, I'm a former casual SC2 player & scifi nerd, and also looking forward to ZeroSpace with anticipation! :D Regarding how to make each playable race more visually distinctive, here's some suggestions from me :) : - For the Grell, their main theme seems to be plants and bugs. 1. To distinguish them from the other races, maybe make them more fungus-like: generally pale/white surface with eerie-looking blotches & extensions here and there. 2. For the units, you can perhaps take inspiration from insects infected with Cordyceps. 3. And for the spreading biomass, you can make them more like lichen (this way, you can also reserve the grass-like aesthetic for doodads.) Basically, the idea is that these guys look like just an otherworldly ecosystem from afar, but when seen up close, it turns out that this ecosystem has been taken over and connected together by "something" ... which is poised to take over your planet's ecosystem too. - For the Arandi, their main theme seems to be technology beyond the other races' understanding. 1. To distinguish them from the other races, maybe make them more "spectral": significant parts of their structures/units are translucent, ghostly, airy, etc. 2. For those parts that look solid, have them be very streamlined and slim, or even skeletal. 3. For the Arandi's own appearance, I suggest minimizing the humanoid aspect and emphasizing their multi-purpose tendrils, which are their distinguishing trait. Perhaps take inspiration from cephalopods (including their shapeshifting ability. ;) ) Basically, the idea is that these guys are so good at engineering that they can do a lot of things using very little material (or even no material at all). And so psycho-physically advanced that they can reshape their own bodies (or transcend the need for bodies on occasion). That's all from me for now. :) Hope my suggestions are helpful. Cheers!

I'm lovin it so much I Pledged BIG on it. I'm still praying to Arceus it doesn't kick the ever living hell outta my ass though... my APM is too weak to register on a APM Meter. I dunno if i'll ever really ever wanna dare any PvP unless I can get pals sucked into this game too and maybe we just sometimes unleash carnage upon each other for funsies.

well, if they'll have a well designed ladder system that would not be a problem since you would play players of your own skill level at some point, also, unlike starcraft 2 it looks like the time to kill is a bit slower on this one so that should also help lower speed players, focusing more on strategy, map control and merc and main faction interactivity

I am worried about the factions/races like these guys, and especially the grell, having units that look to similar and hard to differentiate between mid battle or if there are multiple battles going on across the map. When I say this I mean specifically the units for each different race, they all look... to much alike. With Zerg, you would never confuse a zergling with a hydralisk. Im all for having a common theme, but maybe change up the colors of some units so they are most distinguishable or even slightly change the designs. The grell all seem to have 6 legs, crav like pincers, while all being very very similar in color. Even the flying grell unit looks the same, it's just flying. I like what you guys have going, its just a suggestion.

just found out about this game. still need to get behind the "main race and merceneray race" mechanic seems new to me. like the overall idea of the races and how this really kinda give starcraft vibes which is a good thing i think. this race here is nice and i REALLY like the idea of it and style of the hero character unit - i also like its a bit more on the serious side design wise than e.g. stormgate is (or at least feels like - for me at least at the moment)

Loving all the info releases and videos. Very much hyped for the game. I am a little sad that all of the specialists have been humanoid thus far. Even the Grell though less so thankfully. It's too early of course to remark on their playstyles but I was kind of hoping for a bit more diversity in regards to their designs. Looking forward to future announcements and where this game will go.

Sounds like they draw inspiration from The Culture books, very exciting! Wonder why they look human though, is it a Star Trek panspermia situation or is this literally the '10 000 years of genetic engineering, technological development and transhumanism later' human faction? They unfortunately also seem to be missing some of the weight or 'oomph' to the animations.

it looks cool, like the units, hate how heroes are mixmatched to whatever race, some with merchenaries; it just looks and seem off. what ive seen from thhe gameplay i actually think it looks really good. a kinda mix between DOW serie and Supreme-commandeer, which are both excellent games to take ideas from. would love the ability from dow1 where you could set your units behaviour to different states, also existed in an ooooldd rts battle something; where you could sign roles and the unit would forfill them in subpar manner, but it lowers a lot off the trrivial micro; like "right click->scout" unit will attempt to scout dark area's, right-click "disengage" unit will disengage and flee from enemies; as such you could easily give units basic roles they forfill which are trivial, simple and honestly shouldn't be the commanders job to micromanage :DD Love the tyranids, but pls no bipeddle, humanoids, with the monsters; let us get Monsters; big fan off the "ultralisk" love how it seems to work, i was positively impressed over how the game plays, is, and seems to function togetheer ;DD

Hey team, I'm sorry to say, while I find the design of the whole race absolutely stunning and unique, the hero design feels soooooooooo lazy, oh lord why can't it be an alien like the rest of it and instead is this cheap to "Wanna play my lord?" mobile game ad level. Please please PLEASE give her an interesting design on par with the rest of the cast

These mercenary factions are really cool, but they are so cool that the basic factions like the Legion and the Protectorate pale in comparison. I don't think two "man with gun" human factions was the right idea, they are too lame. I almost only want to play with the mercenaries, honestly.
