I hope future generations will still be drawing inspiration with this type music from the past. I wish I was old enough to have those "real" raves during the early 90's. The scene just seemed to have comradery amongst their population.
@FreshLyte5 жыл бұрын
It was the best time honestly. I get depressed when I think of todays scene. Back then there was no social media or cellphones. The music was absolutely incredible to hear live and not commercialized in anyway, just raw ideas. Even though I sound like a jaded boomer trust me it was exclusively THE time for electronic music/rave culture. Your comment made me think about how out of touch people have become with the fundamentals.
@norakat5 жыл бұрын
That camaraderie didn't last too long. Toward the late 90's, things started getting commercialized and promoters were trying to make the big bucks. The music fell too and the vibe left. In the beginning (in the US east coast at least) a lot of parties were funded by kids in the scene, sometimes drug dealer kids that made a ton of money. But still the people that were promoting and throwing the parties were kids in the scene that had love for it. There was a big network of promoters and people would schedule bus trips so people in different states could attend the parties. They were not like the big money businessmen looking to capitalize on the scene like today with all their phoney music and concoctions. .. And $300 tickets!

It did. No fighting. No alcohol really. No forced diversity. It was naturally diverse and everyone got along 99% of the time. The subject of racism and all the negative things never came up once. I was in San Francisco. People are mean and vicious and brainwashed now by comparison. No one had their stupid phone either. People were there to interact with each other not take photos for IG.

@@FreshLyte don’t be such a fossil. the production of music now is more complex than ever and the production quality is astounding. I’m talking about the underground artists and festivals, not the commercialised stuff you listen too. You are not digging deep enough, you are turning into a grandma saying ‘It’s not like it was in my day’, of course the social media and phones ruin most of it, but all over Europe and elsewhere there is some unbelievable talent, music and festivals taking place constantly where people do not revolve around phones and social media. Dig deeper

What gets me the most about your channel, is how you seem to have so many of the tracks that I bought "back in the day". I remember playing this at an after hours party, thinking that I was playing something very few people would know at the time, let alone in a year or two. Yet here it is, nearly 30 years later, along with loads of the other stuff I thought would be forgotten.. Nice work...

music from another dimension would not have a heartbeat based rhythm like most humanoid music, esp african music which led to jazz, blues, rock.. ambient without rhythms is more metaphysical, or beyond the physical (3d) realm.. try Aurora Borealis by Wendy Carlos, truly alien music, or at least non-hominid - there's a lot like that

@2trancentral 😃 Thanks for your channel I've just discovered today *a-m-a-z-i-n-g* May I test your knowledge? A track from around '93 to '95. It starts with a sample of a man's voice. He sounds like a teacher. He says something like, "There's a book with your name on it. You write beside your name *Trance* deeper & deeper " The sample returns later on in the track. "There's a book. Write your name on the book. Next to your name write trance." I can't remember very much else about the track's musical composition but I seem to recall it was a mid-tempo track. Any ideas?
