Loved this! Was reading through the comments and I see you were considering the uilleann pipes before taking up the hurdy gurdy, which I was amused at because when I first heard one, I mistook the sound for being uilleann pipes or northumbrian pipes mixed with other instruments where-as I now realise several of those sounds were all from the hg! :)

Simon Burton At first I thought of getting UP, but I knew was more keen on playing stringed instrument than bagpipes. Then I met hurdy gurdy, the instrument with strings but sounds like bagpipes. As you might know, HG is such a magical instrument to live with ;)

+Nephilim Dante before I started playing a hg I've been playing a guitar, a piano and a tin whistle. Then I wanted to play sometging different. At the beggining I wanted uillien pipes but I gradually noticed hg got my attention more than that, so I switched my mind from UP to HG.
