Eidola is basically DGD's little brother. They're on tour with them now, Andrew is a touring member and back up singer and co-writes some songs. The guitar player is Sergio Medina who is the Vice President of Blue Swan records (Will Swans label). Sergio and Will were in Sianvar with Donovan Melero (Hail The Sun) and are in Royal Coda with Kurt Travis (a former DGD clean singer). There is this entertwined musical Utopia of muscial GODS within DGD, Hail The Sun, Royal Coda, and Eidola.

Man. I had no idea that this band exsisted. They are SO GOOOD. The vocals, the instrumental. Like holy shit, its just perfect I might even create a new playlist just for them. I did it only for 2 bands (spiritbox and falling in reverse)

You gotta react to To Speak, To Listen and Degeneraterra, you just gotta do it. Those albums are 10/10. I'm 100% sure you're gonna love them. Man, Eidola is fantastic! Trust me!

I hadn't heard anything from Eidola, this was the first listening ever... And what an album, I can't stop listening, one of my favorites from this year. Great reaction dude, glad you liked it. For some reason this album reminded me to the first Royal Coda album, maybe because of the guitar player (who is the same in both bands) and the drummers have a similar style. P. S. Royal Coda is the band from the second singer of DGD, Kurt Travis

So nice to see/watch a new comer discover this band and their newest long awaited album which watches a Andrew Wells and their entire vibe element into greatness. Practicing/Tour and learning full time with DGD and the Jon Mess feature services then so well. This is a 10/10 for me on repeate so far

THEE one guitar riff in Caustic Prayer gets me hooked and hyped. Then Andrews "Do you know. HOW TO LET GO!" Into the drop sends me it's so good. Hopefully theyll play it live in Seattle here soon. And The Familiar tho I know that seems like a basic choice

Caustic Prayer reminds me of Closure in Moscow a bit. Not sure if anyone else gets that vibe too. Something about the rapid shifts in styles, the riffing mini guitar solos, the poppy and dance parts.

Honestly? 2021 had so much good stuff but this record stands undefeated as the AOTY in my heart, even at the most harsh of my criticism I can't find a single second I dislike about the whole thing, it is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of their stuff in my opinion, which is nuts because everything they've put up is incredible in it's own regard.

Also, I feel like the real big difference that sets this band apart from DGD is their drummer. Mingus is an incredible drummer for DGD, don’t get me wrong. But his writing style is definitely a lot more subdued and simplistic and consistent than Eidola’s drummer. Eidola’s drummer is wayyyy more experimental and progressive with his writing so in turn, their songs are a lot less “funky” than DGD’s.

Eidola is on Will Swan's Blue Swan Records. Theyre on tour with DGD right now. The singer Andrew Wells had to take over for Tilian because he tested positive for covid and was feeling ill.

They're actually on Rise Records now. That's why it took so long for this album to release even though they had it finished years ago. I seriously recommend watching Andrew's recent interview on "BREWtally Speaking Podcast". It was great and really gives you a lot of insight on Andrew and the album (one big really cool thing he said is that he wrote like the entire album including all the instruments on his own before giving it to the rest of the band to put their little touches on it. Just mind blowing how talented he is).

Saw these guys before DGD in Columbus recently. Was my first DGD show but I was familiar a little bit with Andrew having watched a lot of DGD live vids. I think these guys are almost too technical for their own good. I love the last two songs on this album & I think ancient temperament has quite a Tool guitar sound to it which I dig. I also appreciated the energy they put out on stage but it was almost too much flying around to the point it was distracting which I found to take away from the music. I think these guys have a lot of potential for growth if they hone in Melodies & maybe take out distracting bits in songs that take away from its highest potential impact. I like the artwork here but the older works don’t seem to stick out & grab my eye out of all the stuff on Spotify. Needless to say I realize I don’t have their vision but I think there’s just a handful of distracting things they could do without🤷
