In this third episode of The Architect Series we focus on Villa Camojan 55, a prestigious villa in the Cascada de Camojan urbanization in Marbella's Golden Mile, Costa del Sol.
The architect, Juan Carlos Tortosa, highlights the unique location and natural enclave of the villa, as well as the free-flowing relationship between the interior and exterior spaces.
The villa overcomes its elongated plot by structuring the spaces with a large entrance hall and a sculpture that serves as the entrance axis.
The use of warm materials such as travertine stone and wood creates a more welcoming and integrated environment.
The structural challenges, such as the large porches without pillars, were overcome by using open plan design and high-quality details. The gym area is a unique and ideal meeting point between the environment and the interior space. The Vasari Group gave the architects almost total freedom to create a contemporary villa with a strong connection to the environment.
