dan auerbach and crew have made a lot of great music over the years, but somehow this very recording right here still rises to the top IMHO. raw, real, complex, beautiful -- just great songwriting and stellar performance. wish i could've seen them live. RIP Mr. Swift.

I saw them in Paris, same night of the shootings at the Bataclan, they were phenomenal. I had a feeling it would be a one off, seeing them so fresh and raw and not very likely to tour again…

Best side project of the decade.

Im hoping it becomes his main focus. I love the Keys' minimalistic approach to music, but this just shows that Dan is really the sound of the BKs. It must be so freeing to be able to have a full, professional lineup of session musicians at his disposal to create more complex works of art... (As opposed to being constrained within Carney's drumming abilities/ style, and feeling like he needs to fit in a certain box of sorts.) Actually, you can really see that he probably did feel trapped with Carney with Turn Blue, which had tons of session musicians coming into the studio to collaborate. It was nothing like anything the Keys had done before, and I think its now safe to assume that Dan had been longing for this type of environment...

Arcs = Band. Not a side project
@brunovazquez18 жыл бұрын
"Dan Auerbach's" side project. You do know the definition, right?
@brunovazquez18 жыл бұрын
I don't think his mate might have to do with the way their music sounds. Most of the time the record labels are the ones that control their sound.
@raiderscat8 жыл бұрын
i know a side project isnt the correct term to use lol. Obviously Dan's main is The Keys but I dont consider the Arcs a side project for Dan. Its his second project now.

a lot of the music may sound like other songs... but I think it just happens... Dan wrote these songs, he wrote was was good for the ear and what would make people feel his new tunes. He wouldn't do this side project based on copying Jack white or anyone else. He is doing this side project to open new doors for himself and finally let his self breathe and expressssss. Of course it may sound a bit or a lot like black keys but that's only cause Dan WAS the black keys. and there was pat too... gotta love his drums.
