Worked with Guthrie many times (as a sound engineer) in the 90's. A lovely, gentle and thoroughly talented man

Your description of Guthrie is correct. He's a beautiful soul.

Bought him a beer after a show and talked with him for almost an hour. He is indeed a kind and brilliant man, and far more generous with his time than a player of his caliber (the highest) needs to be.

He can totally do a concept album narrating a story, and playing with his band... they have this powerful, kind of very angular, energized sometimes even aggressive/angry moments...and then they flow into these moments of lilting, kinda bucolic strolling...and back and forth it goes in so many of their compositions. they are just incredible. im not a musician of any kind...so i have no access to a technical musical vocabulary, but they are music masters, to be sure. what an emotional range!

bicycleutopia I am a musician and I tell you I couldn’t have said it better ,greatest band in the world ,it’s actually somewhat comforting to hear someone who’s not a musician in anyway say exactly how I feel about this band and music in general, they even say at there shows they expect most of the fans to be musicians lol

bicucleutopia you had a good explanation of this band's music..It is a bit complex, but every good instrumental song should have a bit of complexity to it, makes it more interesting. It makes up for lack of vocals.
