Enjoyable stream! You nailed what's fun in Arknights gameplay. It really is that Soulslike satisfaction of repeating a challenge until you can do it perfectly, and having a huge number of tools to use so you can feel like you're coming up with your own unique solutions which is even more satisfying. That's not even getting into the other huge things people like - top tier music, character designs, lore, and storytelling. Getting past 3-7 unlocks Integrated Strategies, which is really my favorite thing to play. These are huge permanent Roguelike game modes (currently there are 3, a 4th is coming in Feb) that have their own stories, missions, unlocks, and multiple endings. Each is dozens of hours of content. The one we call IS4 is literally the expedition to the north to find the portal that directly leads into Endfield.

I’ve finished watching now and I’m just going to put some general gameplay tips here: 1. You should raise and max out all 3 star operators and below. Don’t worry too much about using them all of, but they are cheap and easiest to get to E1. 2. 5 stars really aren’t that meta and are kind of a weird rarity (Characters like Lappland, Specter, Ptilopsis, and Blue Poison are actually all probably in the top ten or even top 5 among the 5 stars, so you’ve kind of lucked out with them on your account). Most of the time (unless for waifu reasons), you’ll either want to raise a 4 star or 6 star counterpart that does the same thing rather than building the 5 star. The great thing about this game is that meta really isn’t a big deal and you can mostly choose to play with whoever, I’m just warning you that the 5 star rarity is _extremely_ bloated and characters of that rarity should only be built if they are waifu or have a powerful niche such as Lappland’s *Silence* talent. 3. Along with what I’ve already said, don’t try to level up your units too thickly spread. Ignoring the lower rarity units (3 stars and below), you should only be building 2-3 operators from each class (with guards and specialists likely more than that due to how many unique subclasses each have, and you should build multiple *Marksman* snipers as they are the only operators who prioritize drones, unlike all other snipers). Try to level up and use the same units (about 2 squads worth of characters, aka ~20) and only add and build a specific character that you might need. Later once your base is fully built and you’re getting far more materials, then that is when you can care less and just gradually level all of your unused operators (mostly for side content like IS, RA, or SSS). 4. Skills are more important to raise for a character than pure levels, always. You were only told different for Lappland here because you’re not supposed to have an E2 character until after over a month of constant playing and grinding the game (that E2 ticket is a new thing added for the 5 year anniversary), and the skills won’t make much of a difference yet against such early enemies. 5. When you promote an operator, make sure to give them about 10-25 quick levels, as promoting actually does not increase the stats, only affecting things like attack range, talents, traits (for some subclasses), or adding new skills. Also, a QoL feature they added is that you can just scroll manually to the level you want the character to be (assuming you have the EXP cards) rather than having to spam click the EXP cards like in the old days. 6. Using the custom sort on your operator list along with the Job sort is most efficient to find the character you’re trying to find, be it a specific or a general operator. For example, if you want to find your medic with the highest ATK, you can sort by ATK and select the medic class (or the other order, doesn’t matter) and you’ll see them. There’s also a “Favorites” marker QoL feature added, so if you want to mark your waifus or the operators you regularly use in your squad, this is a third sort that can also be used in tandem with the other two sort features. There should be marker on the operator’s stats page that looks like a rook chess piece at the top, and making it yellow adds them to your favorites. Pressing the rook on the operator list shows all of your favorite operators before the non-favorites (sorted amongst each with the same sort settings of custom sort, so an ATK sort will have the favorite operator with the highest ATK up to the favorite operator with the lowest ATK, then the non-favorite with the highest ATK up to the non-favorite operator with the lowest ATK. Favorite operators will also be shown with a yellow strip in the corner if you are sorting by favorites on the operator list. 7. You don’t have to go the operator list to upgrade things like their level or skill level. From the squad page (or the squad selection page before starting a stage), you can click the operator and they will have a button on the top left above their skills/info that says “Operator Training” that you can use to go straight to their operator page. 8. For recruitment, unless you are trying to pull for low rarity (such as 1 star operators), just select the tags you want and set it for 9 hours. Certain tags (or combinations) will guarantee 4 star or even 5 star operators, and you can use an online tag calculator to see the characters that drop from certain tags. (Note that with two exceptions, all tags have a chance to be dropped, with a decreased chance at longer set times. Also, tags that contradict such as “melee” and “ranged” or that have no current pairing such as “sniper” and “healing” are guaranteed to drop one or the other.) If you don’t want to tryhard that bad, then just look for the following tags as reference: “Top Operator” (glows yellow) - guarantees a 6 star operator and will not drop at 9 hours “Senior Operator” (glows yellow) - guarantees a 5 star operator and will not drop at 9 hours “Summon” - guarantees Mayer if tag does not drop “Crowd Control”, “Nuker”, “Support”, “Debuff”, “Fast-Redeploy”, “Shift” - guarantees a 4 star or 5 star if tag does not drop “Robot” - guarantees a 1 star robot operator (these are rare and hard to get), but the time must be set at 3:50:00 for the best chance of the tag not to drop “Elemental” - a new tag added recently for some operators and even rarer than the robot tag, but currently gets a certain robot if you set the time to 3:50:00 and the tag does not drop 9. For tips involving the store or base I’ll just avoid for now. As for pulling, at this time you probably should avoid going past the 5+ rarity guarantee for each banner and save your expunging on limited banners. I’m sure you want to save for Shu anyway, and she’s a limited op that can be pulled from limited Sui banners that come yearly (or she can be sparked at 300 pulls if you really can’t get her by then on the banner.) Also, once you have a good amount of 5 and 6 star operators, you should best avoid banners with pairs of 6 stars unless you have neither and don’t mind getting one of the 5 stars. The blue banners (Kernel) every once in a while you can create your own banner and put a character you want directly in the certificate shop for purchase, and those are probably the only times you ever want to pull the blue banners. Try saving at least 180 yellow certificates so you can get them guaranteed from the shop (you should earn plenty when pulling on banners and recruitment).

Btw I added some more info to my comment (7 and beyond), so read them too since I was editing it while you read it. They’re also great tips along with the others. There’s an Arknights legacy creator/player named Kukkikaze who plans to make a “modern newbie player” guide sometime soon, as the year 5 update made all of the older tutorials basically obsolete now. Keep that on your mind, and you or Soul can ask for permission to react to that (so your chat or comments can clarify or elaborate if you get overwhelmed or confused by anything in it). Or you can just watch it and ask questions later if needed.

well i know you got already many friend in Arknight but if you want to still play it i can add you to my friend list in Arknight with my 2 main account lvl 108-109 and i have also many account mid lvl with crazy lucky 6* characters pull even the limited ones that i can lend you if you want since you skip story it won't be a problem since it's so easy to switch account in Arknight (like at worst 2min)also those mid account have so much high rarity mats so you would have mostly only ez mats to farm at best anyway good luck

So this guy hasn’t ever heard of Fair Use copyright law? Does he not realize he doesn’t need permission to watch videos from other people? I mean… he’s not asking the individual AK artists and animators that worked hard to make the music, voice acting, and visuals he’s watching, but other people don’t have that pass? Even if it’s some sort of personal rule, it’s a terrible one to have because other people aren’t owed permission for their videos to be watched (and not to mention that everyone who uploads to KZbin does so under a Creative Commons License anyway). He doesn’t have to get other people’s permission because by law and by the rules of the platform he already has it. It’s like a parent fixing their child dinner and the child thinking he has to “ask permission” to eat. It would be indicative of some messed up things if he had to… All this does prevent him from reacting to the best community stuff like Lungmen Dragon member showcases or fanmade animations/music. I’m only about 15 minutes in, but I’m certain this arbitrary rule is going to bite him back or be hypocritically held at the creator level at some point in the stream. It’s not a “courtesy”, it is a waste of time and irrelevant to ask such non-permissions. I feel bad for Soul, because I’m sure this would be so awful of a vague and unnecessary limitation for them to work around in order to collect react material (managing copyright, spoilers, and repeat videos is hard enough as it is I’m sure).
