Bloody love how realistic reforger is, that 5.56 going supersonic sounds amazing, I used to shoot .223 with a moderator on and it still made that gorgeous crack sound, nowere near as loud as unsurpressed but being able to hear that supersonic round is amazing

I bought Arma Reforger on PS5, best decision I've ever made. I really enjoy the realism to it. I hope they decide to release the rest of the Arma games to console. Highly recommended to all others who do not have PC or Xbox.

Great video. I’ve only been back into this game about a week, but I’ve already learned to double tap everyone that you hit, as the AI is very good and will heal any of their downed friends that aren’t quite dead. Also, you can steady your gun sway by resting it on a fence or anything you can crouch behind. I played on Reforger about a year ago, put stopped playing as it was crashing so often back then. I revisited it about a week ago and it is so good now. I’m hooked! It still crashes occasionally, but nowhere near as frequently as it did before. I’m on Xbox, so this is my first taste of the Arma games, having previously been a HLL veteran. For the first four or five days of my revisit I played on Combat Ops and the other solo/co-op scenario (I can’t remember what it is called now!), just to refresh a bit of my knowledge and relearn the basic controls. Going straight into the full game raw can leave you feeling like a rabbit in the headlights.

@ A lot! For one, those solo/co-ops games weren’t even a thing last time. Also, the server reliability and frame rates are much more stable now. As I say I play on Xbox so 60 FPS is as good as it gets, but it remains at 60 FPS for most of the time. One thing I do like about this game is the general community. The game is hard, I mean REALLY hard at times, so it requires a bit of dedication to get into it. This kind of eliminates the toxic COD players, as a run and shoot style of play will see your live game time cut very short! Those that are regular players are generally very helpful to newbie players that are willing and interested in learning how to play. Also, there isn’t an ‘us and them’ divide between PC and console players. PC players will be used to the Arma format whilst console players are new to it, but the PC players are still willing to offer help and advice to anyone, which is great for the game long term.

Wait for Arma 3 to go on sale, and grab the full bundle, it'll usually include A3 with all the official DLC and if I'm not mistaken, the one will give you all that, _plus_ Arma 2 and it's DLC as well for like $20.... There's a ton of stuff going on on A3, anything from single player missions, to co-op online milsim, to Exile Mod (my favorite, AI missions, base building, looting system, PvP/PvE), to Antistasi (similar to what he's showcasing here)...tons of stuff, and kinda the same with A2, but there's next to no player base really.... But there's still DayZ Mod, Epoch Mod, and Origins Mod servers still up and they're active with players....so you can effectively go back in time and play some of the best genre creating mods ever to exist. And of course, you can get Arma Reforger.... just realize, Reforger is a playable testbed for the upcoming Arma 4....it was created to have mod, script, mission, and map makers a base and the tools baked in to have a jump start creating for Arma 4... and their work could be used on Reforger as well as it's again, a playable testbed. Once you join the proverbial "Armaverse" , good luck ever breaking back out.... that includes DayZ of course

Bootneck, I know this video is 3 months old but I just came across it (Feb 2) and it's probably my favorite video that I have seen yet. I have only been watching online multiplayer and to me this game mode seems much more fun. I have been playing Reforger for the past 3 weeks and didn't even realize this mode existed. Unfortunately, this is the only mission for single/coop gameplay, and it wasn't updated after AI update. I wish there would be more mission, I was even tried to make my own, but new map editor tool is quite complicated for me yet

Absolutely not. I almost didn’t give it a real chance because of vanilla. W.C.S or some of the other heavily modded servers are what kept me. Reforger is exactly what it aimed to be, a test bench for future Arma 4 tech. The community has made it worthwhile.

Playing Vanilla Combat Ops at night is almost impossible, as you don’t have NVGs but the AI can spot you from miles away! The game timer is super slow too, so if you join just as night falls, you could play for three or four hours and it will still be the middle of the night! Ask me how I know! 😄

theres a bug with the suppressors if you grab a gun that already has one attached just remove the suppressor and re add it from your inventory not the arsenal to fix ive had this happen on the block ii and the 110. ive also had it happen on the m17 if you have that too.

Realistically I like the sound on the M4 or whatever that is with suppressor. You are 100% not using subsonic ammo, so you will sill hear a loud crack from the bullet, suppressor or not. Same would be true for the M110... I doubt it is subsonic ammo, so irl it will not be that quiet. Also iirc if you use it without suppressor depending on the mods you use you WILL hear the difference. Some mods make the shooting without suppressor (and without earplugs) extremely loud. Like hearing damage loud. Suppressors will not make you completely silent, they will mask the bang from the shot and the muzzle fire, but if you use supersonic (standard) ammo it will be loud still. You hear the crack. Modders of ArmA / Reforger generally will reflect the realism. As is what the devs do (alas there are no official suppressors yet in Reforger, but they are on the roadmap still). So the M4 Block II sound is perfectly realistic.

@@tiberius8390 im very much aware of this but those guns do not have subsonic ammo in arma reforger. ive stated what i have experienced myself with those guns and how the suppressors can bug out with that mod there is not any subsonic ammo that comes with the block II or the 110 unless you had a separate mod that adds it (if there is any), which i dont see in this list. i also understand the difference between fantasy and reality, which are 2 very different things i also have enough knowlege that a suppressor only suppresses the sound not completely silences anything. idk why you thought i was indicating that it should be silent when i never said such. im just stating that the 110 when he was firing it was not sounding as it should due to the bug. ive had more than 100 hours with that gun mod alone (with the SRS sound mod) aswell as a similar amount of time with the block II. also you wont hear a crack sound from your own weapon. this is a video game after all not real life.

IDK if it even works now and if it does, about 50 % of the code will work! But download and keep an eye for updates. Next one will make the AI pick up specialist weapons, rearm at crates, greatly improve cover evaluation, adds squad tactics and much more ♥️♥️

@@giogamer4825 Probably not in its current state. I’ve enjoyed them, but I think that’s going to vary by player. Options for single player will also open up if they allow mod support on PS5, and currently these modes can also be played cooperatively online if you have friends that own the game or are comfortable playing with randoms. The other feature that I haven’t really explored is a “game master” mode where you can design your own experience and then play it back, but it seems pretty complex thus far and I haven’t dug into it too much.

Metal Gear Solid V, a 2015 game still outstand all games in those solo tactical type of game experience, highly suggest it Edit (DISCLAIMER) : I still have notification for low IQ comment. Obviously 2 different games and if i'm suggesting MGS V over a Solo Open World ARMA Reforger mod is basically for MGS V AI that is way better in terms of interactions and reactions with the player and his actions in the settings showned in this video (one man army clearing AI's bases and checpoints). 2 games from opposite genre can use same standards, its pretty common, AI, level design, progression, etc, there is tones of areas that can be compare and the mod right here is an FPS/TPS solo one man army open world milsim experience where MGS V is a TPS/FPS solo one man army open world arcade experience so they share things automaticly. And AI is really more competent in MGS V on a base level in the setting named before without including mods to AI behavior. To conclude, one of the things that the TacticalBootneck is doing here is clearing bases, checkpoints as a one man army which is basically what you are doing in MGS V in a more fancy way and on this gameplay part, MGS V outstand many things, AI being one of the most obvious but link to AI we can add infiltration gameplay which is far superior too in MGS V. To remember one thing that come to my mind we had to wait 2024 to have a mod that let players hide in the grass from superman AI vision that the vanilla AI have in ARMA games. So don't take that as a war between 2 teams, it's someone that have played a TONE of ARMA (mostly Eden Editor scenario creations and some modding) telling to this youtuber, go check MGS V cause the gameplay type you are experiencing in the video is way more fun in MGS V and you will get blown away by the AI from this game in same situations. ARMA is a milsim platform for modders to create awesome scenarios and settings for players to enjoy, so what is showned in this video is like 0.001% of the gameplay u can get on ARMA. So don't take that as an insult as some players like to do when they hear someone saying that this 0.001% of the game is better in another game. Hope this will filter notification of random comments. ​@@TacticalBootneck Honestly, Metal Gear Solid V is pretty unique compare to others, you should test it and see how most of those ARMA features and gameplay mechanic are done well better than in this game. Overall less realism for sure, but AI, infiltration mechanics, contractor type of gameplay, etc, and new mechanics that don't stop to come at each steps of the game, its wild. Really its insane how innovative this game is in so many ways at its time and still at our current time. Since i've played MGS5 i falled on Kojima's fanbase. And i'm a big SQUAD, ARMA 3 and EFT (SPT) player

There is all kinds of goofy scifi stuff, but the other feller isn't wrong in that you can play it like hardcore tactical game if you so choose. Imagine something like the modern Ghost Recon games, but actually pretty good, and you're close.

Currently there are no mods that I know of for PS. There are vanilla game modes though.

Do you rent a server? If so do you mind sharing with which company? I have been renting from GTXGaming which has been pretty good but I cant get an RHS modded version of combat ops running on it. I can get it running locally on my pc just not on the server. Was thinking of trying Nitrado but have a few days left on my current rental to decide… cheers

I use GTX for one of my server and I got it working. You have to use the correct mission id

Is not a mod. Combat ops is a scenario in reforger. Just open the game, select scenarios and combat ops.

What platform are you on? On pc where you see the game mode there are symbols over the left of the image. One of them is to host locally. When you set up the options you can add mods etc. then in game just choose the Game Master option from the pause menu…. If you are on a rented server go into the chat box, “/“ key I think from memory and type #login followed by your admin password to gain admin rights and become Game Master.

@@confidential837 Ah that sucks. I did read somewhere that you cant host on Xbox unfortunately. Not sure if they’ve fixed that yet. Only thing to try then is to load up the mods you want, launch the game you want to play and see if Game Master is an option in the pause menu. Im guessing you tried that already though. Otherwise you could look for a server running the scenario and try and get on it when theres no one else connected…… Servers aren’t too expensive if you did want to go that route. Mine cost £7 for a month. You can have 10 people on it so if you have friends to play with you could share that cost and just do the single player stuff when they aren’t online…. Just a thought……

You mean teamspeak as in the software or as in using a mic? U dont need the software teamspeak, it has an ingame radio system. Squad and platoon level. Its much more fun if u use a mic, u meet alot of people, sometimes its 64vs64.

You can add some mods in the game itsself but if you want this much you need your own server.

The graphics were just next level, the dirt kicked up on the screen when close to an explosion, the way the grass flowed in the wind... it was just gorgeous and still is by modern standards imo.

You are mistaking AI for a spawn system. You could scout the area for enemy reinforcements and never see a single unit - just Your target, as You aproach. But then - as soon as You engage the enemy, other "patrol" units keep spawning until You manage to set a "cleared" state to the location. And yes - they will allways spawn very close to You and mostly behind of You.
