thanks for sharing! Would like to see your design/build of a Armin wing flying wing.

I like the 9g size for all applications. There is an $8 digital metal gear EXI and a $4 standard plastic EXI I get from HobbyPartz and use depending on the force needed and the abuse expected. TPro and HXT900 are hard to beat for price in small planes and non-critical uses. Virtually all the rest of the parts I order are from HobbyKing.

Hi Ed,love your vids started my first build, was wondering how come you don’t apply the tape to the bottom of the wing first.

Those are starting to come out from some other guys. I will be building one soon. Have a look at the scratchbuilding contest video for two great versions of an Armin wing flying wing.

I enjoy all the verbs you use :P

That's a great idea as long as you're working with 100% tape-on-tape. If there is any exposed foamboard then water is unfortunately a no-no.

is it waterproof if i am making a sea plane?

I just watched your 'improved fuselage' video and noted the use of water there, so - - you need only spray one surface, you can mist just the foam-side tape. - you'd be pushing the water out and away while applying - It's likely that very little water will contact the paper edge Of course, this is just theory at this point. When I get to that step, I'll give it a shot and tell you how it turns out.

In my discussion with others concerning the Armin wing, I am giving you credit for the invention of this wing design, then I found out your last name is not "Armin" but that of a sponsor? It's a very clever and simple design that has excellent characteristics. Can you give us the history on this wing?

Your concern about the tape sticking together prematurely can be helped with a fine mist of water on the sticky side, which will get squeegeed out with the card. It's a vinyl sign/decal maker's and window tinter's trick. Use plain tap water in a misting spray bottle - you can get big ones from the plant section of a hardware store, or small ones near the window tint at the auto parts store.

I build one was very fast used a 1500 kv brushless outboard motor and a 30 amp speed controller.. First flight ended in a tree minor repair ..lol Awesome plane thanks for sharing was wondering what place you order parts from and servo's used... Thanks

Hobbyking.com is a good place to order parts.

Armin is my 4 year old son, and he is clever and excellent too, so I wanted to honor him with the name of the wing design. You might check the "Intro to Ed @ Experimental Airlines" video for more random details about me and EA. Glad to hear you're spreading the word. Be sure to send some videos my way when you can.

I know it's kind of a simple question, but are you using a hot glue gun, or a low temp gun? I am using a hot glue gun, and every once in a while it melts part of the foam. I wasn't sure if a low temp would adhere as well as a high temp one.

How Ironic! Your posting on part8 which is the tail end of a eight part series showing the exact thing you are asking for! 8-| Start with Ed's video label "The Armin Wing: Part 1"
