I am very excited to start this wire sculpting project. I want to express my gratitude to Robin for allowing me to be his student. I have already made some sculptures in other techniques, but with the wire technique it is my first time modeling from the ski

Well, this was mesmerizing. I went from searching for how to build a base for a human sculpture (Because I have no one to teach me) to finding astonishing images of sculptures made entirely of wire.

As a fellow tradesmen and artist, I find this inspirational, informative, and very cool! I do preservation, historical work, metal, and carpentry, this is the first time I've seen sculpture design with wires, it's beyond awesome!

That is AWESOME I want to try this so hard! I always do small 1:100 or 1:50 wire figures for my architecture models, I like them much more than those out of plastics or carton because they contrast much better and stay alone as not a part of the building. At the same time they seem more vivid and organic. Now I discovered your wonderful sculptures and I fell so in love. Thank you for sharing these videos! I'm now dreaming of a 1:1 or 1:2 dog wire sculpture inspired by the style of giacometti. I am really thrilled by your art.

I've been looking for you for years as I've wanted to tell you I love the way you catch the grace and movement of the earth and air fairies in wire. Very life like and true to form. It's as though they swim in the air like a ballet performance. That you catch them so real, it's as though you've actually seen them, but don't want to admit it? I do wonder if you've seen the water fairies and how they travel? Your work is amazing and the fairies are pleased! 💚💚💚

If I could suggest a small change. Viewing would be better if you moved the Video #'s out of the center of the screen and perhaps displayed them in the upper right corner or somewhere out of the way. Otherwise I love your work! I was astonished the first time I came across one of your sculptures!!! They are truly remarkable and exceptional works of art!!!!

Have you tried on a bigger scale to wind coils like they do when making those copper dragons, gives a good perspective for your mermaid and dragon projects. I found mixing gold, green and blue metallic paint when spraying the steel gives a long lasting effect also.

Can i ask what type of wire did you use for your work? Is it a steel wire? I have a project for my class which i wanted to created but I bought a different type of wire and it is hard to work on my current project with the steel wire so I am planning to use your technique in recreating my sculpture piece instead of trying to bend the wire. Your work is always stunning and masterpiece.

Excellent stuff.. im going to try some of this for my own garden. A question... using steel tools with stainless I've been told its a no-no. Do you have a concern with this?. Thanks
@robinwight26595 жыл бұрын
There is some logic behind it, but its more myth than truth. If say you use steel wire-wool on stainless, it leaves a residue that rusts and can stain the stainless. Nothings I've done with steel hand tools has caused any problem at all. Also welding or heating stainless can change the properties and it will stain, but its not corrosion and can be polished out again.
