With the yprac maps personally once I get the hang of all the common angles I change the settings to 100hp (for me) and 20% of enemy spawns with enemies using awp. That way two things happen: 1.) I get punished for bad peeks so I know which ones I am not as consistent at like peeking jungle from palace. 2.) With 20% of spawns it gets you used to implementing the mechanics at a greater speed (in reality there won't be a guy in every spot, so by having only 20% of spawns I can practice trying to clear everything out as fast as possible and only having to periodically stop at certain spots when an enemy spawns there.)

Tried this (with prefire mode) and it just doesn't work for me. Fast/wide peeks simply don't work against bots with 100% accuracy, 0ms reaction time which also shoot you on the first pixel. No real person would shoot the first pixel of your elbow just to give away their position, and possibly even wiff. Maybe I'm using it wrong, or it's not for me, or I have the wrong mentality about it. But never have I left a practice map so insecure about my plays. Felt like an unfair match against giga smurfs.

Something I've heard many times from great players is "Peek every angle as if you know they are there". This is mostly in regards of clearing angles. Still after thousands of hours of different CS versions I find myself clearing angles on autopilot just expecting nobody to be there...

Peeker’s Advantage also comes from the fact that you expect where the opponent is and you anticipate the exact moment you are going to peek, where as getting peeket you don’t know the exact time so your reflexes aren’t going to be at 100%.

Just want to add please don’t re-peek an angle after you whiffed an enemy, even if it’s in the open, ask for a flash or just stay covered, enemy has the upper hand when they know exactly where you are and they’re just going to wait for that re-peek and one tap you, re-peeking is an issue

I'd say crouch peeking exposing your left has it's use in 1v1 other riflers at higher ranks as your head can be hidden behind a concealment making them harder to hit it. Of course you need to practice pre aiming so that you can run + crouch peek immediately into the desired angle without exposing your head, not that you can do it all the time but I always keep that little piece of knowledge behing my head.

The defender and attacker are actually almost, if not, on par. Situations where peekers advantage exist: - If the peeker prefires - it elimates pretty much all reaction time. - If the defender has a significant high ping and interpolation. 70ms +. - This will affect your view on the peekers deceleration. - If the peeker has a wider angle. [Geometry] - If the peeker has packet loss. If you all have less than roughly 50MS in ping, the defender will almost always have the advtange, providing they're sitting in an advantageous spot, forcing the peeker to take a bad peek.

High ping = more peeker advantage is a myth. Only defenders ping matters. If you have 1ms as a defender it doesn't matter if you get peeked by 200ms or 1ms, thw attackers ping is added to both players time-to-server. The defender has both their own ping plus attackers ping.

One of the biggest reasons for peekers advantage is timing. The peekers knows when they're going to peek and should be expecting to see the enemy. The defender holding the angle has no idea of or when someone will peek.
