As a Zoroastrian/Parsi who emigrated to Canada 10 years ago, I am grateful for you both gentlemen to take me down the nostalgic road of Rustom Chawl, Jamshed Baugh, Parsi Colony, KPI, Pakistan Chowk ke bun kebab, nihaari and everything. To quote Elif Shafak, city's are built on spiritual columns. As Faizan mentioned how musicians went back to their day jobs, sad to say that almost any Parsi who could leave, has left. Here's to hoping that the spiritual columns of our great city stay, and inshallah get stronger. Thank you Junaid bhai, Osama and team. Keep up the great work. You guys 🤘🏼

This is by far the best podcast I have heard Faizaan is utterly talented and a learned person, with a mix of history, music, entertainment, and content creation It clearly shows the knowledge level he retains and I wish is able to pass it on by making the documentary he wants to create! If he is reading, Faizan, do share your wisdom more often as there aren't many like out there...

Persian part reminded me of my Nana, he topped in MA Persian from Punjab University when it was still undivided..got job with government and Persian came in handy as old registered documents of Shahajahanabad used to be in Persian back then. Interestingly he learnt Hindi only after migrating to Delhi for work else his native Himachali, Farsi and English worked well for him till before independence. Thanks to him my mother can read Nastaliq in the time when linguistics are either losing their value or are being stigmatised in the name of religion.

Certainly! When I'm working in Australia, I prefer the richness of podcasts over music. Recently, I indulged in a captivating 3-hour and 16-minute podcast on history and archaeology-it was truly extraordinary and there are more people like me who enjoys it as well. My passion for history and archaeology extends to my visits to historic places, where I immerse myself in imagination, deeply appreciating the intricate architecture that surrounds me.

dear Junaid, I recently had the distinct pleasure of watching your podcast with Faizan Haqqee, and it must be said that it was a veritable treat for me. As someone who spent the first half of my life in Karachi before leaving the city, which was in a state of plunder and social decay due to ethnic and sectarian strife, in 1988 to join the army while my parents migrated abroad, listening to you and Faizan discuss Karachi was a nostalgic experience for me. I was later posted to Karachi four years before my retirement and stayed there for almost twelve years, but it was not the same Karachi that I knew and loved. The city had become unclean, and its people had changed. It appeared to be divided into three to four parts based on economic, ethnic, and business lines, and people had become more self-centred. Having said all that, I still miss the golden times I spent in the city. The music scene, the people, the food, the communities, and the places - all of it holds a special place in my heart. It was a joy to hear you and Faizan reminisce about the city and its vibrant culture. When I lived near the Hockey stadium, one of my greatest pleasures was riding my bicycle early Sunday morning in the old Saddar and Clifton area, which made me appreciate and enjoy the city's stunning architecture. Listening to your podcast made me wish that my children could imagine what Karachi was like during my time there. It was a city brimming with life, colour, and energy, and hearing you and Faizan talk about it made me feel like I was transported back to those times. I wish to thank you for creating such an engaging and enjoyable podcast. I look forward to watching more of your episodes in the future.

Dear Junaidbhai, greetings from Mumbai. It was an interesting conversation, which saw in fast fwd 1.25x speed and also skipping few sections. What caught my attention was about the History / proposed documentary section wherein the guest was narrating the sequence of events of Pakistan....Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism/ Ranjit Singh and arrival Qasim . I am not sure why the guest or yourself conveniently forgot to mention Hinduism prevailing in this part of Asia...right from Afghanistan to east of present day India. Putting forward few relevant chronological events : -Indus valley end 1900 BC -Gandhara Hindu Kingdom 800 BC -Birth of Buddha 564 BC -Birth of Mahavira (Jainism) 540 BC -Arrival of Qasim 711 AD -Sikhism / Guru nanak 1550 AD -Ranjit Singh 1800 AD Hinduism or Sanatam Dharma ( Vedic way of life) existed in Afghanistan to East of India in early period much before Buddhism or Jainism or Qasim or Sikhism arrived here. Present day Pakistan was having majority Hindu population which got slowly converted into Buddhism, Jainism , later into Muslims, Sikhs . This critical part of History is ignored even by yourself and guest , who call themselves liberal Pakistani Muslims. Documentary will be incomplete without covering Hinduism/ vedic times in this sub-continent. Running away from facts of the past , will never help anyone to know oneself in present times. Only brave can face the bitter truth.

Distinguishing between climate change and global warming is important, as the former is a natural phenomenon that has occurred over time, whereas the latter is a recent occurrence resulting from human activity.

Salam Junaid and Faizan, I can feel your pain (درد) for Urdu. It just kills me when I hear many of our new actors speaking wrong Urdu, especially the تلفّظ۔

its Premiering! and I'm so freaking hooked on it. I'm 90s kid and this nostalgia is blowing my mind. Couldn't have asked for a better Sunday! Thanks Junaid! ❤

It's a really fascinating podcast. I do not really use to see podcasts and even this podcast was lengthy which took me three different sittings to complete but let me admit that it is really fascinating.

Grandson of Shan ul haq Haqqi is talking about mannerisms and culture while using four letters word. Junaid Akram uses it all the time as well. Irony is unmistakable
