Hi there! Author here. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post this kind and thoughtful review. I know how hard Yoshino worked on the art in the cards, and it is so refreshing to hear your take on the work. Sending gratitude and lots of love. x

You're very welcome, Jennifer. I actually thought about trying to find you to ask for more info about the artistic process before I did this but wasn't sure how to! Hope I wasn't too off base. Thanks for an absolutely beautiful deck and thank Yoshino, as well!

I've been reading cards for decades and this one is my favourite ATM. It makes me tumble into a world so deep. I swore never to get an ai deck but this one pulled me in and the colours and images touch something in me. It reads like a dream for me. I was happy to see a really thoughtful review about this as it is becoming my favourite.

Thank you so much for your comment and for watching. AI is a tricky thing, but my impression is this creator just used it as a tool along with his other tools as an artist. If it moves you and works for you I don't think you're doing the universe any harm by enjoying it! 😘

Thank you so much for doing a full flip through. I have so far not invested in any AI decks,but this one speaks to me differently. A lot to date have felt flat to me, but this has drawn me in! Im so curious about the process used. The production looks lovely, I appreciate the colours in the art and enjoy interesting guidebooks. All these are wins for me. And so, this is the first deck that has integrated AI that I will be purchasing. Its also the most abstract... The only deck that comes slightly near would be my Textured tarot. Beautiful card backs, and nice to not always have gilding. Im going to dive into the artists/creators processes and also the podcast. I know there is a lot of debate around AI, and yes, some decks feel like total rip offs of other's work. But it's here to stay. As a non artist I dont want to devalue anyones work. But I also feel I need to understand when AI is used, to what extent? And how? Ultimately we will need to draw our own lines in the sand as to what we think is ok for us individually, and our own moral/ethical boundaries. So yes, I need to educate myself more. Thanks again for a great review/flip through 😊

I'm glad you found this helpful and I think you'll enjoy the deck. I really think, though this artist worked with AI, he added a great deal of time and thought to it. It's a beautiful deck and very high quality. The author has done several other decks with a different artist so I believe she's invested in a professional product, as evidenced by her comments here. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

I have this deck and overall I find the images captivating. I do wish the guidebook gave more insight as to what is on the card. Your reaction to the 4 of wands for example, is the same as mine. And I also would like to know what the Page of Cups is (looks like a dead fish head?!?) and even the Queen of Cups is an odd image.
@papermoontarot42194 ай бұрын
Queen of cups looks like she has a mustache and a cup of some sick drink. Some are decidedly odd but many are beautiful! Thanks for watching.

Im not a fan of AI art generally but there's a lot to like about this deck.. I love the colour pallete and impressionism or abstract feel throughout. Some of the cards are very pretty .. some not so.. Will be interesting to hear how it reads for you. Thanks for sharing Nancy 🌻✨️

Thanks, Julia. I'm generally not a fan of AI art when a) it looks all stretched out and somehow off and b) it's the sole effort, meaning it wasn't used as a tool with other tools by an artist. This one really is beautiful, more like digital collage, and has been working well for me. Thanks for coming by!

I do not like AI for fear of it taking jobs away etc. but this is a very pretty and interesting deck. Thank you for your first impressions Nancy ❤

I understand your feelings about AI. But I figure sewing machines took work away from seamstresses, digital art often takes the place of hand drawn art, automated elevators took work away from elevator operators, and on and on. But as long as an artist is using the tool and adding their creativity to it, I accept it. We can't stop so called progress, but we can make a difference in how we'll use technology or let it use us. Thanks for watching. 🥰

Not sure about this deck. I like the art but I do not support the use of AI to create art. Why can’t we have AI washing our dishes or folding laundry instead while we focus on doing something creative that we love doing like art? Just saying… Art and tarot are based on intuition and AI is not. Hmm.. 🤔 It will be a tough decision for me. Thank you for reviewing this deck. 🙏
@papermoontarot42196 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your thoughts. Fortunately or not, AI will be folding laundry and washing dishes and appearing in our inventions, medical treatments, and art. In art I look at it like Photoshop--a tool that can give you whole cloth textures, blended colors, etc., but for me, when used by an artist based on their intuition with other tools can be valid. Collage takes bits and pieces of others' images and reuses them. Musicians and poets riff on others' works. We have to be watchful and consider what we create and consume, but I think we will find that avoiding AI in our lives will become harder and harder. ❤

@@papermoontarot4219 Unfortunately yes, avoiding AI will be harder from now on. But I do believe in humanity and our ability to adapt and prosper! 🙏 ❤️

The Artist Decoded Tarot? That's a very ambitious title. Especially because it is an AI deck. 🤔
@papermoontarot42196 ай бұрын
I suppose decoded could refer to the computer code connection and the decoding is what the artist does to rework that. There's an interesting quote in the guidebook (which is excellent and goes into lots of esoteric things) from poet William S. Burroughs: "...any artistic product must stand or fall on what's there" (talking about computer generated poetry). But I agree, the name is interesting to say the least!

Hi! Author here, we named it The Artist Decoded Tarot because of the themes we explored, but also paying homage to the artist, Yoshino's podcast The Artist Decoded, which has supported artists and fostered conversation around the creative process since 2015. I hope that clarifies. Cheers! x

@@JenniferSodiniI do enjoy knowing the context and the thoughts behind the creation. The problem is that most people won't have the luxury of author explaining what was meant.
