Thank you! This is the best Keystep 37 tutorial I've found online, much better and more in-depth than Arturia's own tutorials. Apparently, Arturia is making great products but not doing great in explaining them. I think Arturia should support this channel to provide tutorials for all of their products.

26:48 No need to hold down the last entered note to add to the arpeggio, you can keep holding the first note - that way you can add new notes to the arp as fast as you can play! 🎹What an excellent tutorial!! I picked up a bunch of new things, thank you for taking the time to make it! 🙏

Thanks, this was great! So much easier to go through the different functions while watching a video than by reading the manual, for me at least. Good tips that I think even @loopop missed. Namely that you can let go of the shift key once you've selected the user scale and hold shift to jump over arp modes and seq patterns. 👍🏼

Great tutorial, thank you! I'm getting mine in three days and now feel I'm prepared. I almost went for the new Minilab 3, but since I already have the fabulous Nektar Panorama P1 control surface, the Minilab seemed a bit pointless. The scale, chord, arp and sequence capabilities of the Keystep 37 are much more helpful, and will replace various software solutions for that in my setup, like Scaler and BlueArp with a more hands-on solution. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Bigup! This was so helpful, been playing along and learning my keystep the last couple of evenings. So much better than trying to read the manual whilst learning, also far superior instruction than the official arturia vids. Couple of questions though, is it possible to play live with chord mode when using Kbd Play? Also can you use chord mode when overdubbing? dont think you mentioned that and doesn't seem to work for me.. Thanks again for taking the time to do this! Subscribed!!

The play button on the arp and sequencer will not work on anything other than internal. Not sure if this is a fault. I have it going into a usb hub and then into my m1 iPad Pro. I’ve tried sync over usb, midi and the rest but am not having any luck. I want to use it in AUM even the AUM clock doesn’t sync to it 😢
@YoMyNamesJakeG

This info is invaluable. Question though, I'm trying to sync three machines to this thing - my RD-6, TD-3 and Wasp. I'm sending out Midi data from the internal clock of the Keystep. To do this though, I have to hit "play". What I'm trying to do is strum a chord on the Wasp at the same time. I know the Wasp is monophonic, but strum works in chord mode as a more interesting arpeggio. Is it possible to play chords like this while the tempo is "playing"? Strum seems to not work for me in this scenario. As soon as I hit "stop", I can strum a chord no problem through the wasp. I was hoping to record everything like this in real time if I could. Hopefully that makes sense haha.

When you change from the Chord section to Arp mode, my Keystep 37 doesn't react to rate like yours does. I adjust the rate knob and hit the rest/tie button but no numbers ever show up to adjust the rate. I can't get an arpeggio to play at all.

Needing the two hands to change the CC banks is a design flaw. While playing, if you want to travel between the 16 knobs, you need to stop playing just to push shift.

So Strum can be either Wang or it can be Chung, but not alternate? Darn. So in a Major scale of C, I can play the C, D, E, F and G keys and get a progression of C, Dm, Em, F and G? And arpeggiate or Sequence them? Or is it Chromatic? Wow, I hope so, there's a couple of songs that could be made very easy, especially considering that I'm also singing lead and playing bass with the other hand. I'm going to be using this live gigging as a MIDI 5 pin input to a Roland Juno DS61, mostly for playing bass and freeing up a couple more octaves on the Juno. Most of this stuff is pretty useless live, but you never know.

I guess the number of chords notes played together is limited to the number of available voices on the synth. Like if the synth is limited to 6 voices , playing a 8 notes chord on the keystep will end in a 6 notes anyway, right ?
