Loved the wool combing Taylor. The Artus Shawl - I was not moved by it, but I follow Milli from Tribe Yarns and she has a way with colour that is, for me, super exciting. She can take a blah design and make it so different with colour. I know you prefer more muted and earthy tones. But sometimes just adding a completely out there colour can make all the difference. I also love that green-gold colour. Sorry to hear about your Dad and the way you have been cut out. It is so difficult to get our heads and hearts around why people do the things they do, but I am sure your Dad understands what is going on and knows how much you care. Love Starbaby! Poor thing though, she must have gone through some kind of trauma herself. Lucky for her she has you. 😊

I went to NJ sheep fest or garden state sheep breeders, today. Im not sure if you’ve been but it was very pleasant! very lowkey compared to Rhinebeck but with some great vendors and sheeps. Im also going to try out vermonts this year. Im also so sorry about your dad and your mom trying to keep information from you. Hopefully your sister sees through that and keeps you in the loop. No one deserves that. 🐶

Oh I love your Artus Shawl, even with the different green in it, I think the change of colour actually looks better. Hope your Dad keeps improving and you can talk with him again soon. I know all about the blimin cat waking you.. we have one monster who used to wake us every hour from 2am. After trying everything we ended up putting her in a large dog crate just at night to try break her routine.(with her water, dirtbox and bed of course). She was fine overnight and we finally got some sleep. Would definitely suggest something like that as you need your sleep and she'll settle down into a routine. Anyway great to see you and Star Baby. 😊

Sending healing thoughts and prayers to your dad! It is so hard to cope with them being ill, and your sister should be telling you daily how he is doing. You inspired me to finally cast on my Artus Shawl today. Your colors are so lovely.

Hi Taylor, So very sorry to hear about your dad. Please know you are wonderful human who had the misfortune of being born into a dysfunctional family. I hope you can find some peace amidst all the turmoil you are going through. I love your down to earth podcasts and seeing you and your kitty spinning. Your knits are gorgeous and you are an inspiration.

It's always such a pleasure to watch your podcast. I absolutely love your finished shawl and have been eyeing the pattern but I haven't made any moves yet to knit it. It was mesmerizing watching you comb the fleece. I had never seen that process before so thank you for sharing that. Very cool! I'm sorry you're dealing with family s*** and I'm hoping that your dad recovers very quickly from his latest health scare.

Really loved seeing the combing of the fleece! Was wondering how this prep compares to using hand cards? It looked less stressful for those with carpel tunnel, maybe? My heart goes out to you as you deal with family matters. It's hard to know what to do sometimes.

I hope you get to go to WI sheep and wool! I've been there (2019) and it was my first major festival. I liked it because it wasn't too big, but there were a lot of other wool choices that aren't always here on the east coast (like Coopworth etc.). I thought MDSWF was too big for me and a bit overwhelming (this was probably also due to the rain, which pushed people under cover and made it feel cramped.)... anyways. I like WI... it is such a pretty area and I'm partial because I grew up about 15 miles from there. I recommend staying in a B&B in one of the surrounding towns if you decide to go!

I wore mine on a trip to Ireland. It was perfect for those chilly days. I wore it mostly around my neck. The only thing for me was styling it to show pattern when worn around neck. But I love it..

🐶🐶🐶, T. I’m so so very sorry to hear about Dad. Even more sad to know how you’re treated by your Mother. It has to weigh on you a bit. I attended the Seattle FlockFiber Festival and must say it was a blast. It wasn’t held at a fair grounds, and not as huge but I still managed to find yarn to buy that was not superwash! My thoughts and wishes are with you this week. Double hugs, ClaudiaSJI

This shawl is in my cart. I still need to purchase it already. Yours is stunning; the color you point out is only slightly different than your primary color; either way, it looks great. I'm trying to decide what yarns to use for it. I think non-superwash is best, as you used it. I have mostly made superwash shawls. Because I have so much of it. I have less nonsuperwash yarn and typically use it for shawls. I need to ensure I have enough yardage in the stash without buying new yarn. I’m trying not to buy more yarns. Even though I broke that rule last week, I’m so weak regarding yarn. Lol 🧶🤔 I will pray for your dad. I lost mine over 20 years ago now. It's hard to believe it's been so long. Your family life is very stressful; I‘m so sorry. But life isn’t easy so please take care. 🐶

I want to make a more rounded on the bottom might be nice stay nice. A lighter yarn layered with mohair might be easy to keep on.

My calico cat loves to be with my my husband a lot especially when he is busy and she jumped on me at 3 am when she was younger and I had such a crazy reaction that she has never done that again. I trained her not to do actions that annoyed me such as climbing on the top self where photos are and plants that she should touch by just using a water squirty bottle and that was only for a week or too. Cats learn fast. Also try giving her more protein dense food at night before sleeping eg fresh cooked chicken breast, half a cooked sausage..left overs from dinner. I dont give my cat canned food as it has too much salt and recks their kidneys over time. Let me know if this helps. We need sleep.

I would love advice on processing fleeces. I have been spinning for over a year now and always purchase pre dyed braids. I would love to purchase a fleece and process it for spinning at a low cost. I don't have any special tools as in a drum carder or anything.

What about alternating the white handspun like it was two skeins of hand dyed yarn, alternative every row or two? Don't know how to add the dog. So woof, woof, woof.

Apparently cats cats don't think of their humans as a different species, just really weird large bald cats. They have more frequent shorter sleep schedules and find it worrying when people sleep through the night because to them it's like how would be like if you had a roommate who slept for 40 hours at a time! Haha I just read that somewhere. I am not my cat's preferred human (he likes my boyfriend much better) so even though I wake up refreshed I feel rejected! It is a win/win lose/lose situation depending on how you look at it. :)

Oh dear Starbaby Moonchild is misbehaving. I am not a vet but having been a cat mom (and plan to be one again) perhaps miss misbehaving would calm down at night by having a 10-15 minute hunting spree with you before your bedtime. By this I mean playtime chasing whatever and eventually letting her pounce and catch whatever. I read that cats, being natural hunters, need to have the final satisfaction of catching their prey. She seems to have attachment issues with you but I haven't a clue how to handle that, maybe your vet has suggestions on how to address that. Maybe your interrupting her sleep is reinforcing her behavior to do the same to you or maybe that notion is too farfetched. Sorry about your Dad and mother situations. Wishing you continued resiliency.

Can't you close the door and wear ear plugs for now. A cat specialist could share a light on this behaviour. Maybe this is something fixibe and you don’t have to suffer from it for years. Letting yourself out on the cat your frustration is the worst thing you can do. This cat is under your care and it clearly loves you. It is more likely she wants to engage her best friend in the nocturnal schedule, which is the best one for cats, and cannot grasp why the hell you would nap during the hype time. Maybe you can build a catio outside and have her there in the night. It's very good you reconsidered taking a dog. Those have often difficult background and need additional attention and you expect them to fill in the void. This is a recipe for a disaster. First take the best care of yourself, of animals under your care and then make additions. Maybe this cat prepares you for motherhood, but you cannot see it yet😂
