The big elephant in the room on this is that it was started by the OSS/CIA, and the Kuomintang (the Taiwanese), in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The KMT wanted to use northern Burma/Myanmar as a stepping stone to 're-take' China, and so they grew a shit-tonne of opium there, which was shipped out on OSS/CIA planes in exchange for guns and money. The KMT were there until the 1960s, supported by the Americans, even though Myanmar had objected in the UN all kinds of times. Later on, these groups transitioned into meth to remove their dependency on crop cycles. Always remember that - all the Golden Triangle drug trade, not just Myanmar, was begun by the US in the post-war period in order to 'fight the Communists' The fact that this guy tries to pin on on 'China' is ridiculous.
@seanwilliams14545 ай бұрын
Hey David, this is no elephant - in fact we've gone into KMT drug trafficking a ton on Underworld, including a recent episode on Olive Yang in which we got into the brutal oppression meted out by Li Mi and his forgotten soldiers to commandeer the dope trade to fund their failed attempt to retake the Chinese mainland. But while it's true that China has recently raided casinos and slave compounds in Kokang to flush out narcos and other crooks, there's a mountain of compelling evidence that Chinese pharma companies are exporting precursor drugs to Mexican cartels for fentanyl production-and not just from DOJ sources. McCoy's book is fantastic but it's by no means the only recommended text on this history. Bertil Lintner is also a wonderful source, among others.

Yaba is huge over there. It’s used to keep awake to make more money for their families but it doesn’t quite end up that way as you can imagine. There are areas in Burma that not many people have even been to. The Chinese are going after the “illegal” Casinos near the border, but I’m not sure how far into Burma they’ve been.

Its true Australia has the highest number of people who use meth per capita(size of population)in the world,we pay the 2nd highest price for it than all other country's (new Zealand is 1st),but we don't see drug addicts living in tents & on the streets homeless like they do in large numbers in many of city's in the usa

meth is like cocain when coke was poping back in the 70’s-80’s , coke was popular in high class circles, no bums/homeless people or nothing like that , thats how i see meth in 2024 , many use it , the type of people you would never imagine using , but they are 😆

The funny thing is this guy said the meth coming into the states isn’t from the Golden Triangle and he doesn’t even know that the majority of meth coming into the states is coming from Mexico and the funny part is it’s called The Golden Triangle in Mexico where a lot of drugs are grown and made as well as a lot of the labs are. It’s 3 states that meet each, Sinaloa, Chihuahua and Durango.

Holy shit! Thats why the Chinese are building the bridge across the Darian Gap. The mammoth size construction project isnt even well known by the Panamanian people (alegedly). Its massive. Its big enough to transport building/construction materials, tanks, trucks, 18wheelers. They are going to build one of these plants in Columbia and need the bridge across the Darien Gap...the jungle that stopped the intercontinental highway, south. Holy shit that's it. This is the "why" for the bridge. They are going to smack down one of these plants in the middle of the uninhabited Gap.

What gives Shan State an 'edge' is that the Shan are by far the biggest 'ethnic minority group' in Myanmar, at more than 10% of the population. The Shans or anyone else there are not 'backed by China'; this is an outright fiction. However, many of the same ethnic group live on both sides of the border, and have done for way before there was a modern day Myanmar or China. And the Wa people are not 'Chinese', as such: they're an ethnic groups who live on both sides of the border (although mostly in Myanmar).

this was interesting; right at after WW2 a USA startup cargo airline was using B24s flying "medicine" into Burma and "money" out. An old friend of mine (long dead) had tales of airplanes "filled" top to bottom with cash .. he had great tales but never explained where the money came from and to whom it eventually went. His airline would ultimately become AirAmerica (he started other airlines afterwards as well) .. so miss that guy and wished I had been mature enough to ask more questions way back then. Funny you hit on this at min 39 although I wrote my comment about 20min in. Min 42 the solution is to end the globalist governing bodies (UN/WHO/WEF/NATO/etc) so that the world doesn't always look like a Don King boxing match.
