This was a great series, the USSR is no more, thank God. I find interesting about some of the comments below about people comparing the USSR with Obama and America. If this was the USSR you wouldnt even be able to make comments, all the internet was censored. EVERYTHING was censored. If you spoke out about the Kremlin you and your family would be shipped out to Syberia in work camps. You weren't entitled to your opinion about politics. Either you were for the motherland or you were a traitor. The NSA gathers information, thats what it does. It doesn't send death squads in the middle of the night to kidnap you, or torture you and your family. If you didn't know the NSA came out during the Bush era and announced it would spy on USA citizens as part of the Patriot Act. I have no clue as to why people forgot that but acted surprised when the NSA was caught spying on the German Ambassadors? Did anyone follow up on that story on how Germany admitted to intercepting communications between Clinton and Kerry months before the incident? But I guess it was ok for Germany to spy on two top foreign relations officers on American soil but damned if the NSA trys to spy back. People are so easy to support Snowden. Are you effing serious? Snowden gave away almost a million classified documents to not just one but alot of foreign countrys. We cant even fathom what was on those documents because technically the contents havent been revealed. Whats funny is how right after those documents were sent, ISIS started popping up. ISIS was able to take over military areas in IRAQ that were documented on American classified information. How many of those documents actually went into foreign countrys hands and how many of those could easily have been turned around and sold to terrorist organizations? Alderich sold out 20 American Assets. Snowden sold out God knows how many assets all over the world plus provided locations and techniques on how we spy accross the globe. that information could cripple America much worse than Aldrich did. Fuck them both and long live America! Land of the free. How do I know this? Because your allowed to read this comment without a death squad at your door...

You are right about the USSR, but totally wrong about Snowden. He did not reveal any of the documents. He gave them to journalists and tasked them with being careful that no one and no process came to harm. After years, they can't point to anyone coming to harm. The journalists published a small percentage of the documents Snowden gave them and they showed their articles to the govt before they published. This is utter slander. Snowden is a hero. He told us about the mass surveillance of the NSA. It was stopped, judged unconstitutional, the journalists got the Pulitzer prize. Snowden got a bunch of prizes for humanitarian work and for freedom. He has yet to get the Nobel Prize. He was second to Malalia.
