I’ve been running my ASV RC 60 on my rural property in Nor Cal for almost 20 years. Four in one bucket allows for clamping logs, spreading gravel, dumping dirt and piling snow. Best machine ever. Little hydraulic leak, but otherwise pretty flawless. Love these videos.

I’ve worked with compact skid loaders on service and customer issues for 6 years. Mainly ASV. From when they were terex pt30s and TSR50s. These newer ASV units ( rt25, rt30, rt50) are great units. I hope that we get these rt135 in our fleet! Track systems remain the same, but the hydraulic routing and components have been upgraded to make them easier to work on (minus track motor lines). The power this thing has looks amazing.

Ah, just don't do what my uncle did w-a-y back in the sixties. He was 'dozing downhill in a D8 (?), with the winch in free spool and then throwing the winch into gear to stop the 'dozer and winch back to the top of the incline. He snapped the cable. He bought a heavier cable and continued. He snapped that cable. He went back and got the heaviest ****ing cable he could fit to the winch. This time he didn't snap the cable, he tore the winch and part of the transmission off the back of the machine... He bought a new 'dozer. I got this from two different sources - he wouldn't talk about it - one being a guy who worked for the company selling him the cables and then the replacement 'dozer, the other being the guy who recovered the remains of the 'dozer many years later. My uncle was Billy Williams and this happened in the sixties outside Gisborne. The family has lost touch with him since he moved to Aussie in the seventies,and he'll be pushing eighty now, but if he's still alive and anyone knows of him, a heads' up on him would be appreciated.
@simpsonservices64632 жыл бұрын
@@gordowg1wg145 when you go down you never free spool, your mulching not racing. power down and power up. We use a 12ton winch with wire cable with a secondary line on a truck. Some dozers have rear rippers fitted with the winch to prevent such issue. We have never had issues with our system as our winch is over double the pulling weight of the machine with mulcher. ASV moves their weight more towards the front for superior balance. But in this case it worked against it. Its lighter in the rear than other skid steers.
@Vootie2 жыл бұрын
I own an ASV and the easiest way to get out of that situation is just to cut the throttle to almost zero, dropping the engine revs and reducing hydraulic flow will enable the tracks to turn without breaking traction with the ground, the ASV will just slowly crawl up the hill. This even works on straight ice.

It’s weird. When you get into equipment and it looks like it’s your first time running anything like that. Sometimes you can’t go from one equipment to another with out a little learning curve. Today I ran my dump truck and delivered 5 loads of shell. I drive a 18 wheeler 5 nights a week for quiktrip and it’s a 13 speed manual transmission. My dump truck is a 8 speed manual transmission. Yes they are manual transmission but they shift was different. So if you get used to running one type of equipment and then go to something that is the “same” it’s really not the same.

"So if you get used to running one type of equipment and then go to something that is the “same” it’s really not the same". so true- even thought I run an ASV 75 the controls were tuned differently in this one. It was a lot more sensitive. I could have tuned them down to what I was used to but I kind of enjoy that feeling of trying to get used to something.

Stan, not so easy to get and Absolutely Sexy Vehicle stuck like you did... Great job! But the best is getting unstuck without damage to vehicle, people or property. I hope you're getting one of those for the time the reps spent with everything you did together. $135,000.00 for the dirt model is steep though, used equipment are usually a better value as long as they were only driven to church on Sunday by a little old lady. 😉

Stan, what's the gauge on the mulching head itself that keeps jumping around?

That ASVv should have a rear winch just for this reason

I wonder if it would get beat up in the woods though-but otherwise I like where your going with it.
