one thing you missed is that the 805 has a deisel engine for use on the unelectrified holyhead line, whereas the 807 doesnt

Something else noted. Class 800 to 802 inclusive were all grounded in 2021 because cracks were discovered in their bogies. Also the air conditioning unit leaked on the first run of a class 800. GWR's units are the worst on the rail network.

Class 800, 801, 802 all use the same diesel power pack… it’s just configured differently in each.

802 and GWR 800s have the full performance of their engines unlocked but 800s have smaller fuel tanks. LNER 800s have lower performance in diesel mode compared to GWR 800s

Yes and no, Technically al IET's are only built for 125 but. They are designed in such a way that upgrading them for 140 is possible

The 803s have a battery instead of a diesel engine for non electrified routes, the 805 is also pretty much just an 802 and I actually don't know the difference between the two.

@@willridestrains because they don't need mods to run at 140. The trains themselves can run at 140 with no mods. The incidents I was speaking about were two separate speeding incidents to do with the speed set where both drivers thought they'd set it but they hadn't and both unmodified trains continued way past 125mph.
