“You can’t really have a cinderella in football” is such a terrible take. Thinking like this will lead us to the death of CFB outside of the two biggest conferences. Hopefully some upsets in the 12 team bracket the next few years will destroy this opinion.

It’s an interesting concept. I don’t know the right balance here but it would be cool to somewhat evenly distribute talent among colleges so you don’t get a Bama/OSU/LSU monopoly on high level college play.

You have to divorce CFB from colleges. Basically, you need to spin the football programs off into their own separate business entities so you can get around Title IX. This Super League idea is on the right track, but concerns for and accommodations made for Olympic sports will only result in more half measures. Leave Olympic sports to academy programs. There's no legitimate reason for the need for American universities, state ones in particular, to be concerned with cranking out water polo and track athletes. There's no reason for it to be involved in creating NFL players either, ftm. Hence why the entire thing needs to be spun into its own corporate entity. Lease facilities and trademarks and whatnot from the schools and then go about with "college" football.

This format is doa. Its never going to happen. The tv networks wouldn't want it, the big10 and sec would never agree to it. There is a reason the tv networks and the p2 didnt go to the meeting about this 80 team format, they'll never agree to it.
