I watched Gunsmoke for 67 years now and I watch it still everyday and on Saturdays. I was unhappy when Chester left, but fell in love with Festus. What a great western. Matt was the greatest. Thank you to Johm Wayne for suggesting James Arness for the part of Matt Dillion.

Always makes me laugh when a bad guy is talking to Matt, acting all cocky, while he’s sitting down, then Matt stands up and he’s way taller than him 🤣

I remember seeing this episode when it originally aired. I was about 11 years old. Gunsmoke was a Saturday tradition for my family. I still love the show. Matt, Miss Kitty, Chester and Doc will all ways live in my heart.

I agree, Margie because when I first heard the song I kept thinking about Gary Cooper in High Noon. Matt Dillon is right there with Will Kane (Gary Cooper) and authority always wins in Dodge City.

Why do you care? They are free associating a song they like with a show they like. Matt Dillon was a figure of authority that many people fought against on that show. I get it. Don't you? Or are you a person that doesn't want to hear music over a show they like. If that's the case, then go watch the show and let those alone who like to see good music played over a collage of good video clips of a good show.
