You're correct! I think the misconception is that Jasmine is his favorite and it's played up for a joke but ya Ginseng canonically is his favorite based off what he said in the show.

He says both. In one of the first few episodes he says ginseng. Then, i think only a few eps later, he says its jasmine tea. Then it stays jasmine tea for the rest of the show.

Yeah, very good video. Maybe for a part 2, you could explore the real world counterparts the the teas further. The type of tea you can get in a Chinese restaurant is usually a black tea, green tea and jasmine combination.
