If there’s one film that made the MCU the Juggernaut it is today, it’s this one. Everyone has been anticipating this movie ever since that trailer they showed after Captain America and it did not disappoint! These characters work very great as a team and Loki was a very memorable villain. The whole battle scene in New York is just amazing. This is a movie that gave us what we wanted and more.

The "swarma" scene at the end: Chris Evans (Capt America) was asked to come back for this "pick up scene" after filming had been done. Because of this, he had already started to grow a beard for his next role, and not being able to shave it and let it grow back before filming the next movie started.... he had to keep his hand on his cheek/chin in order to hide the beard. Just a bit of "behind the scene" info.
@gasperdn2 ай бұрын
Just to add on to this comment, I read in an article that Chris Evans was wearing a prosthetic to hide his beard and it was apparently impossible to move his jaw with it so that is why he is the only on not eating and has his hand on his cheek to keep the prosthetic from moving and reveling the beard.

Man, i'll never forget when i saw this in theaters. Is not a moment that is very talked about, but one of my favorite scenes is when Hulk gets angry at the jets shooting at him, he jumps on one, rips the top and then the pilot ejects himself. For a fraction of a second you think "Ok good good, he's gonna be alright", JUST TO BE STOPED dead on his tracks by the monstrous hand that catches the seat. My face, surprise, breathing and horror for that tenth* of a second mimiced Maggy's during this reaction. You forget to breathe for a moment, up until he gets tossed away and u see the parachute deployed. SO, SO SO GOOD!

19:55 “He’s adopted” is priceless. When I first watched this with my kids (all are adopted) and Thor said that, they all cracked up laughing. They later incorporated that phrase when they (lovingly) tease each other. Loki and Thor are probably their favorite MCU characters.

The MOST ICONIC theme song of the 2000's here. Avengers theme is EPIC. First it was John Williams Star Wars theme in 19787; then a year later he introduced the Superman theme and those have been the most epic themes for decades. Then star Trek the Next Generation used the same theme from the original Motion Picture but gave it a more upbeat tempo and a subtle shift in the musical notes to make it more of a pop than the somber version from the Motion picture. Then as the 2000's came on us we has the Fellowship of the Ring theme song. Still with all that said Avengers theme will ALWAYS be remembered.

Fun Fact: The blond woman who gives an interview at the end of the movie: the one that says Captain America saved her life, is played by actress Ashley Johnson. She's best known for being the voice of Ellie (The Last of Us) and also as Pike Trickfoot (Legend of Vox Machina) she also has a cameo as Ellie's Mom in the Show The Last of Us. AND she's also the voice of Gwen Tennyson in Ben 10: Omniverse. Finally she was in a couple of episodes of season 3 of Roswell. But as for myself I remember seeing her 30+ years ago in the TV Sitcom "Growing Pains" where she played the character of Chrissy Seaver

It's almost surreal how epic this movie is. I remember when I first saw. I was familiar with these characters. Games. Cartoons. I had watched the lead up films and that they all were pretty cool. I had expectations. I figured I would be seeing a lot of the same stuff in the other movies and some really cool scenes. I did not otherwise expect a blockbuster but more I don't think I expected the whole film from the first scene to the end credit to be epic the entire way through. The only other movie I can even with that sort of momentum is Aliens off hand. I know how hard it is to produce a movie like that and knowing too there is nothing wrong otherwise with having lulls especially for exposition. But this just grabs your face right when it starts and holds it there until the end. Even in dialogue scenes the threat is always growing, again like in Aliens. They did that good of a job on this imo. And then spoiler free here it's fun to watch them later try and equal or top that same feeling. A side note, that helicarrier command center set is just awesome. What I would give to be taken on a tour of that.

Not sure if you caught it, but the part where everyone is arguing, isn't exactly their own fault. The scepter was glowing at that point and manipulating them. Fun fact. In the grand scheme of things, our planet is very small. We've observed stars of a similar type and age to ours, they have a lot more rocky planets and theirs are much larger. We're a little under 13,000km across, and we're the largest rocky planet in our solar system. Other similar systems have rocky or earth-like planets roughly 30,000 km across and not just 1 either. This has driven some scientists to the conclusion that our solar system is extremely unusual, maybe even unique in terms of how it developed.

I still remember when Loki got tossed around like a rag doll, the entire theater stood up in applause. I didn't even know Hulk said, "Puny god" until rewatching the film. What remains my favorite scene is when the old man stands up to Loki (literally) and tells him, "There are always "men like you.'" That being said, it is slightly diminished by the fact that the actor, Kenneth Tigar, goes on to play Heinrich Himmler in Man in the High Castle.

The scene during the final battle where Hulk punches Thor could be interpreted in two ways. The obvious is that's an aggressive punch. Either Hulk feels a little resentment from his fight with Thor earlier in the movie, or he just wants to punch something and there's nothing around to punch. I prefer the other interpretation, and the more I watch this the more I think this was the intended interpretation. It's just a friendly shoulder punch, equivalent to a fist bump. A sort of low key victory celebration. Except, coming from the Hulk, it's enough to send even Thor flying. Either way, it's hilarious, although not as hilarious as Hulk vs. Loki a couple of minutes later.

You should understand that part of the reason Loki is such a villain is because he is in possession of the scepter that houses the Tesseract, and being in constant close proximity to it amplifies his evil side. That’s why the Avengers have that big argument with each other aboard the Helicarrier. They are all too close to the Tesseract.

First, ladies, I loved your reactions. Perhaps Loki after the last time we saw him, feeling a bit vulnerable, ended up talking to the "wrong crowd," those nasty alien folks at the beginning and end of the movie, and because of that took a darker path than he might otherwise. So Thor has reason to still give him a chance. OR maybe he sought them out, and went dark all by himself. (Just a thought.)

Also I feel like you guys might like the 2009 movie Push. It stars Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning and Djimon Hounsou. It's a decent movie that deserved better than being sandwiched in between MCU movies. If the MCU hadn't taken off completely then I believe Push would have made a very decent Franchise. But unfortunately it came out in 2009 which was way to close to Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Also it was very close to filming Push, that Chris Evans got cast as Captain America, so there was that too.
