It's a shame that the Other was completely forgotten about after he was killed off by Ronan the Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy. He was replaced with Ebony Maw in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He wasn't shown in Gamora's flashback in Avengers: Infinity War and he wasn't with 2014 Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. How could they have forgotten about him?

Did The Other in fact have the Mind Stone? Thanos made no mention of the scepter, and The Other seemed to be able to control the scepter, which given Scarlet Witch's ability to destroy the mind stone, adds weight to the fan theory that The Other is Chthon the Elder God. Chthon is superior to Agamotto in power and intellect so it would make sense.

Yes, one reason why I don't hate Loki despite the lives he's taken and he tried to dominate our planet is because I'm a FANGIRL. But also because I feel horrible for him. His biological parents left him to die on a frozen rock, the man found him and rescued him had raised him his whole life to believe that frost Giants were bloodthirsty Savage and overall disgusting beings that he should despise knowing fully well Loki WAS one, he had always been neglected be his father and in the shadow of his “ golden ” brother, and the only person who was ever really there for him was his mother, who would later die while he was unable to save her, when he easily could have, had he not been a prisoner in his own home. And, he'd always been bullied by other children, then calling him an ergi, or womanish, making him feel ashamed of his unique and authentic talents. And, even though he was always the guy with the better idea who thought of safety before pride in battles, no one ever listened to him. And, he was so heartbroken that his father showed disappointment towards him after he tried to destroy Jotunheim that he literally tried to commit suicide right in front of the two people he's always known as his father and brother. And after spending months drifting listlessly in a void, he was found by Thanos, brutally tortured for months on end in ways we can only imagine, then brainwashed into developing a faux hatred for his brother and a want for power that was more hungry than it originally was, then he after failing and having the threat of his tormentor coming and making him “ Long for something as sweet as pain, then being humiliated as he is sent home to his father, who, instead of being glad to see his son alive after he attempted suicide right in front of him, is glad to reassure his son that he should have died as an infant in the cold rather than him having taken him in and that his mother was the the only reason he was alive because he was to spend the rest of his life rotting in the dungeons until he died if old age in literally 4,000 years. ( I don't know about you, but if I was told I was to spend the rest of my life in a small cell no one and nothing but my thoughts I'd burst into tears, especially if it wasn't something I'd done of my own free will ) and then his brother of whom he still loved and was willing to die for in the end of thor 2 told him he'd kill him of he acted up. And honestly, most people think along with faking his death he faked being so terribly injured by Kurse, but his holograms can't be touched like when Kurse pulled him to him to impale him, and if you listen to his voice when he says “ No, thank you. ” his voice sounds raspy like he's hurt, which probably means he was injured and suffering from poison. And if his plan was originally to fake his death, then why not just pretend to die instantly instead of putting up that little show? He must've just passed out from his injuries and waking up later deciding to take Advantage of people believing he was dead, but before passing out believing that he was actually dying and wanting to make amends with his brother before doing so. So he literally came that close to dying for a brother that hated him because he still loved Thor that much. And in Infinity War when Loki gives Thanos the Tesseract, it's only because he can't bare to see Thor in pain, and just think, even when Thor's last words to him were, “ You truly are the worst brother ” Loki promised they'd have a happy ending. And let's be real, all his tricks, capers and powers, and Loki attacks Thanos with a stake knife? With the intent of putting an end to his reign of terror? and while in the grip of the creature who defeated the mighty hulk who had even once badly beaten Loki himself in the past, he didn't beg for his life or offer to help him in his quest, but rather taunted him knowing fully well he was doomed. I think he wanted Thanos to kill him. One, because if he was still alive Thanos might torture him again to either punish him or get aide from him once again, or to protect Thor knowing Thanos wouldn't kill Thor after forcing him to watch his brothers brutal death so that he may live with the pain of it, or just to try to put the mad Titan down before he hurt more innocent people even if it was truly futile. And now I can only hope he is in Valhalla with his mother and his horse son Sleipnir who I feel died when Asgard was destroyed as they seemed to have taken no animals with them, and I hope that anyone who reads this realizes what we Loki fans have known all along, that he was never a villain, only a helpless, broken victim. R.I.P. Loki... Actually you know what, Rest in peace my butt, if Marvel doesn't bring him back I'm suing.

Watching at this scene, I've realised something: A speculation in Reddit says Loki told Thanos about the infinity Stones and the gauntlet as there was a fake one in Asgard since the first Thor movie. Here, if you pay close attention to the Other's words at 0:37 'He put the scepter in your hand (he was already in search of the stones), who gave you ancient knowledge AND NEW PURPOSE...' So actually, it was Thanos who told Loki about the Stones!!!!!!! The events in IW and EG were not Loki's fault.

I think here Thanos reminds Loki that even though his army turned out to not be as formidable as Loki had hoped. It was still foolish of him to forget that Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe and that eventually he would succeed at his plan.

@Ned Leeds - He can use the "powers" of animals he shapeshifts into though because he gave birth to Sleipnir (Not-MCU) after turning into a horse but that might just be anatomy so unless the powers are part of their anatomy, perhaps he wont be able to use people's powers. MCU Loki is different from comic/norse Loki but we haven't seen the full extent of his powers in the MCU yet (pretty sure he ain't gonna be giving birth anytime soon tho). As for whether he could fool Thanos, Loki is pretty intelligent. If he can fake his death and rule Asgard for 4 years posing as Odin, he could probably put up a good act as anyone he turns into. I think he's smart enough to only shapeshift into people he truly understands tho so he can fool people. Frigga said herself "always so perceptive of everyone but yourself".

The Other is the main antagonist of The Avengers because even though he didn’t face the heroes, he has way less screen time than Loki, he didn’t do the dirty work just like Loki and he didn’t drive the plot anyway it’s just him sending the chitauri army to Loki cause the conflict (if he didn’t give Loki everything he needed Loki wouldn’t be able to conquer Earth), he’s more influential than his master, Thanos, along with Thanos he uses Loki as a minion and in the end Loki is nothing more than a self-absorbed pawn to both The Other and Thanos.

Loki has "died" twice so far in the film series. I hope they actually do kill him in Infinity War. It would make sense, seeing as though Thanos will be pissed off at the fact that Loki has lost two of the six Infinity stones, the Tesseract and the Scepter stones.

Hoby 1 what? The Other is Thanos’ assistant, we see them both in the same place several times. Plus, the Other was killed by Ronan in GotG while Thanos was there. I don’t know what made you think he was Thanos, even in this scene he talks about Thanos in the third person.
