How about just getting killed early on from trying to runaway from Highway men? Game is amazing though especially the power curve e.g. starting off with a spear and endgame is power armor etc. Fallout 4 shouldn't have made power armor so easily available

Tbf the armor they give you is half broken and t-45 is the closest thing we've had to leather power armor 😂

yeah and they should make unique minigun for the early museum part so the next models of minigun would not be a nerf gun lol

The first third of Fallout 2 is brutal, assuming you follow the storyline and travel along the northern section of the map to Vault City. Then comes the ‘open world’ section (Redding, New Reno and Broken Hills) which gets a bit easier as mid game armour and armaments become readily available. By the final third you’re a beast and can take just about anything.

You just stand your ground in that narrow passage, where only one critter can attack you at once and kill them all for lots of XP leaving Melchior for the end. ;)

I tried that, but when I started the fight, I barely had any action points to move back far enough, so I just accepted my fate and started blasting lol

I always bring companions equipped with late game weapons and armor on this fight. It's not easy at all.

I completely ran him out of pets before i killed him... I actually leveled up like twice (and i foolishly did that at level 12) 💀

My average experience in Fallout 2 is to play different unarmed builds, run around corners and punch/kick enemies in he groin until they pass out. Then I go for the eyes. I've done this yearly since the game came out.

@@TotalNegan Do it! Luring your enemies around the corner, just to kick him in the balls is a very powerful strategy. When ever you're out of view they will run up right next to you before attacking, so if you figure out how much AP they have, you can get them close and have them have too few AP's to attack. Then when it's your turn, go for the groin and run around the next corner. Rinse, repeat and soon enough you'll crit and knock them out and then it's time to unleash hell upon their eyes, if they survive and get back up they have to keep getting close to you before attacking or they'll most likely miss you because their perception is fucked. You can be low level and kill pretty powerful enemies with this honorable strategy - combined with enough patience, of course .

It's in the Old Mariposa base, west of Vault 13, the same location as in Fallout 1, just in a different map. You need explosives to get in.

You're basically trying to find that kid in Redding's missing father, and find him imprisoned by Super Mutants in the ruins of Mariposa.

as outer say the maripose army deep in the siuth between frisco and Vault 13. But look like it was a mod. the original green coverd area was a bit bigger and those 2 big contaiment unis were original not in the game.

@@TotalNegan you need sniper rifle or an equivalent. High weapon skill, Better Criticals perk, and hit him in the eye. There's a good chance he'll just die from that.

Just kill melchior very fast so only 2 of the deathclaws will appear

I tried but none of my weapons could do it fast enough 😭 I did eventually take down all the deathclaws, just popped one of every chem I had, and spammed my minigun lol.

I actually like farm all the monsters Melchior summons, and read all his quips. I find getting to fire geckos somewhat more dangerous because flame attack critical hit that ignores armor on you or NPCs can be very fatal even with power armor.

It's a personal favorite, I'd rather the gattling laser, but I hadn't gone to San Francisco to buy it yet since I didn't know about it until I came here and got the map.

even avenger minigun seemed bad. Bozar is nice, reliable, with cheap and easily accessible ammo. You can get Bozar from the Smiley radioactive cave if you have Vic repair the elevator and can lockpick the elevator door. Other option is to steal from NCR merchant guards. I use bozar for random stuff and vindicator for tough fights. I feel like Rocket launcher is probably good too, but it's heavy to carry. Flamer is also probably good too, but just too heavy to carry for my taste (even though I usually play with 5+5 strength).

Actually the minigun is F1 is super strong and makes the game boring e.g. high total damage output due to burst size, fairly long range etc. with sniper you can one shot master even. F2 actually nerfs minigun dramatically due to DR and DT

@@xieliming yeah I was wondering why minigun was so useless in Fallout 2. In Fallout 1 it was good, I was able to smash both Master and Lou with minigun.
