This was the first song I heard from them back in 2013 when I searched them before they came to st Augustine fl. This version captured me. This melody makes me break down today. It was a time of coming off of opiates and I moved to st Augustine to restart new life and this song became my anthem of joy daily. My buddy would always give a hard time saying its about nothing! But I loved the energy I dunno it found me at the perfect time of my life when I could use it. So I have to say I havnt listened to it in couple years. It came to my mind tonight and I looked it up on Spotify looking for this version couldn’t find it but did see there is concert is in st Augustine fl next month. Will be there!! God is good

"there's a darkness upon me that's flooded in light. In the fine print they tell me what's right, and it comes in black and it comes white, and I'm frightened by those who don't see it." Best Live in Concert: 1. Michael Jackson 2. The Rolling Stones 3. Queen 4. Pink Floyd 5. The Avett Brothers They cracked the top five. They're not on Mt. Rushmore yet; but, God do I love this band!
@iamgalaxies10 жыл бұрын
I love The Avett Brothers, but comparing them to the bands you listed before them is just daft. Hundreds of bands have a stage presence as good if not better than they do. The fact that even put them into the same category as Queen is just silly. Re-think your list, edit, then re-post.
@maries79908 жыл бұрын
+iamgalaxies I don't think it's silly. those people are clearly legends for their contribution to music. I think they are all amazing artists but unfortunately was unable to see any of them live. The avett brothers are a modern day band that are only growing. Give them the years that these bands and artists have and I think they would defintley deserve to bee on that list. I've seen many live shows and to this day, I don't think anyone compares to their talent. I saw them opening up for the Rolling Stones and man do I love the stones but I think the avetts still put on a better performance. I guess it's all a matter of opinion though

Not sure about any others, but being a huge fan of this band and this song in particular, I would have been pretty irritated that it was essentially "ruined" by it being played too fast along with a Cello that was entirely too loud. It's a background to the piano and the vocals for a reason. Fantastic band, but anyone saying this sounds anywhere close to the quality of their other performances is entirely too caught up in their love of the band.
