Chinese manufactures make rod models for Brand name sellers everywhere. They have the facilities to copy and improve any rod or reel. Buying rods from local American companies provides one advantage; Replacement Warranties with branded names. Looks sell rods as often as function; this rod has both with a lower price. The rod blank alignment white dots are a great feature too. The only build design issues might be using micro guides; if you use leader knots. Micro guides and leader knots don’t work well together sometimes.

You can acid etch plastic than electroplate a metal (like chrome) on top of it. It will have the feel of metal but the weight of plastic it's commonly used in automotive vehicles. I don't know if this is it, but from what you've said it seems possible.

Fazlite is Fuji’s new marketing term for aluminium oxide. So one step down from Alconite, but Fazlite’s only come with the new Corrosion Control coating on the frame - which is good. Not enough guides on these rods though.

Was gonna get this to match my Valiant Eagle bfs rod ! But that reel is no go for first iteration. Good news is that KK said they will revamp it! And there are news that I just can't share yet... but I guess I said too much already

Would be interested to see the Alderbaran on that rod. Snappy fast tapered blanks can be tricky to cast on a baitcaster, particularly BFS. I get the feeling you still might get some backlash, though maybe not like the Revo.

I don’t expect you to see this because this is an older video, but have you had any thoughts about trying the Bass Pro Shops Crappie Maxx rod as a BFS rod? They have a 6’ ML rated 1/16-1/4 or roughly 1.77g - 7.09g. I have one sitting that I’m thinking about trying, but haven’t yet committed to buying a BFS reel, as I’ve been considering buying a ML spinning rod to do the job that a BFS combo would do.

I have the red version of it , a ml spinning rod, it is an awesome drop shop rod, just a bit stiff that helps hook fish much better than you normal drop shot rods

have you not seen my videos on the Concept Z? lol Those bushings go to crap REAL quick and they get noisy and vibrate on super long casts. And as far as the SLD Ive only seen 1 person do a real review on it and it was crap, backlashing continually. The elite is way better but if you are spending that type of money I would get a Scorpion DC.

It ain't that finicky, in some instances, I can back up the brake more than half from the maximum setting. I mean it's is finicky if you use it with 3 magnets as it comes but it is not intended to be used like that. I found on my ALC-BF7 that the best all-around magnet setup is 5x1,5mm magnets and 3x3mm magnets in alternating polarity. It actually beats my aldebaran bfs (2016) in distance, especially with aerodynamic lures.. but, yes, aldebaran has some advantage in windy conditions.

I have 9 magnets installed according to the diagram. Its finicky. Yes it will outcast the Aldebaran in perfect conditions by a couple of feet.

@@THEREELTEST I used braid so that probably helped, I can see how there can be a bit more problems with mono/fluoro.. But I like static magnet braking system, for example, tsurinoya xf-50 is a super good behaving reel. But I have a little concern with abu, something feels off about spool, I can't feel it that good as I can with other reels, and in windy conditions, it's not helping prevent the backlashes, maybe is that floating spool design, maybe I talk nonsense but, there is really well-behaving reels with static magnet brakes like xf-50.. and i don't think this is the problem with spool metal plate, as xf-50 don't have massive one either.
