The B-1a prototype had a Top Speed of Mach 2.2, but was cancelled. The B-1 program was restarted in 1981 and engines were replaced and top speed reduced to Mach 1.2. The Tu-160 is larger and faster, you don't want to be near it on takeoff, the orange smoke that it produces from the engines is highly toxic.
