This is a special one, this song was supposed to be in the Mesopotamia EP, but I think they were pressured to release the EP, so some songs got discarded, something like that, if you know the full story leave it in the comments 🤭 And, this song is pretty good, it has a sad vibe totally different than the b-52's vibe, but for me works perfectly, the lyrics are amazing too, and I also like that the song name is in spanish, and hear them singing a little in spanish is pretty cool, as I said it in others videos, I'm from México, so spanish is my first language 👀🩷✨️

From what I’ve read, the primary reason songs like this, Queen of Las Vegas, etc. got axed from the album was time constraints. However, with Adiós Desconocida in particular, I’ve read that the band got bored of it. Fred expressed his disinterest in the song and his desire to cut it from the album, and the rest of the band didn’t seem to mind.

@@deadbeatclubmember I agree! My favorite B-52’s songs are the ones where they try something completely different. (Give Me Back My Man, Ain’t It a Shame, She Breaks for Rainbows, etc). If they developed this song further, it probably would’ve been pretty good. I’ve read that Cindy’s husband had preserved high quality demos (including this one) meant for Nude on the Moon, but the label greatly restricted what they were allowed to put on the compilation.

@@doc_jpeg Cindy sure keeps her husband a secret. I've been a B-52's fan since 1980 and I've never seen him.

According to Mats Sexton's *"B-52's Universe"* book, Fred originally titled it "Adios Vaca Rosa" or "Goodbye Pink Cow". He felt it was too serious for him to sing a ballad. Cindy mentioned it was "nice kind of a croon". 💕 Kudos for posting a rare gem!
