How fun! My first quilt was for my hubby on our first anniversary in 1988. It was tied. But it helped me to catch the bug! 1988 was a good year!

I learned quilting from the age of five from my grandmother. we always did hand quilting and that was over 70 years ago. I'm not very good at it but I love to do it.

Thank you for this video! I am not new to sewing, but new to quilting. Making my first quilt for my 5th grandchild. (My daughter; 4 more with daughters-in law) I told her that my grandson is my test for making a quilt. 🤣 Oh I've made many blankets. But in listening to all your videos, I've learned about strip-piecing which i think would be wonderful (didn't do it yet) and I will NEVER use minky in a quilt again with cotton! What was I thinking! Especially using it to sash around a square block! I feel like an idiot. 😪 I AM HAVING TROUBLE HAVING ALL THE SIDES FRONT AND BACK MEET. For minky has stretch. I didn't follow one of your patterns yet, but I did purchase 5 and a few free ones too and will DEFINITELY USE ONE OF THEM FOR THE NEXT QUILT! Still not sure what to do for the boarders yet, for the batting isn't long enough for trim. But like I said and you showed in this video, the first is the worst! 🤣 But that's ok for my daughter doesn't care and she knows it is made with lots of LOVE! ❤️

Donna, yes you ARE in pretty good shape for an "old woman". I'm 74 and wish I was in as good a shape as you are! Loved this video with the babies - so appropriate to go with the quilts for babies and kids.

I found out in January that I'm going to be a grandma! Started learning to quilt in February! I'm a knitter, my sister is a knitter, and my daughter in law's mom is a knitter. So .... I had to learn a new skill. Lol!

Donna I really loved this video. The babies are sooooo darling! I don’t have any great grand children in my life that will wait a few more years. My grand daughters are 16 and 22. Love your choice of fabrics you do such a great job! Your out takes are hilarious I am laughing with you. Be safe and stay healthy.
