Luke P is a prime example of toxic masculinity. Hannah (and others) making excuses for red flags is precisely many folks end up in abusive relationships. Luke completely tried to “gaslight” Hannah by accusing her of twisting his words...and she still gave him a rose. A controlling, manipulative man who cannot control himself is dangerous. I really hope he is getting help...and that he remains single until he gets help.

Tek Gid Toxic Masculinity isn’t a social justice term. It was started decades ago by a man who started a men’s empowerment movement. He felt toxic masculinity was caused by men who were repressed by society and couldn’t express a more natural masculinity. Also the term now doesn’t apply to men doing traditional masculine things. Being protective, liking things like sports and camping and hunting aren’t toxic masculinity. Being a firefighter isn’t toxic masculinity. Being an asshole who thinks it makes you a big man to be a bully or intimidate women...that’s toxic masculinity.

Ashley! I’m honestly surprised you thought Luke’s second conversation was redemptive. He was blaming it all on Hannah misunderstanding him, not that he actually said anything wrong. He still wasn’t owning up to that he hurt her, he distracted from what he actually said in the same way he has been all season retconning the conversation, saying it didn’t happen the way Hannah was remembering. Luke P is a textbook narcissist so even if he does say he made a mistake, he is still manipulating. Hannah is a strong girl which is why Luke is so fixated on her because narcissists love to target the strong, then eventually try to make them weak. We are already seeing this. Is there a chance that Jed actually told Hannah he had a girlfriend prior to the show when he told her he came to further his career but it was edited out? If he said that during that 1 on 1 date and Hannah kept him there would have looked a lot worse on her than just accepting his career confession. My guess is Hannah is engaged to Jed PRECISELY BECAUSE the don't just show lots of clips of him singing, they just did it THIS WEEk, the week AFTER they gave us the weird Recap at the Mansion, not so that they could reset the normal timeline of the episodes as a lot of people have said, but as I THINK, in order to make sure they have the editing down and so on. So they had LOTS of time to make Jed seem kinda villainish in this episode by sneaking off to go see her while everyone else was focused on Luke. Instead, they showed the romantic sereneding and her being giddy about it, while doubleing down on the Luke-as-villain edits. In fact, the preview of the rest of the season from last week made it clear Luke is THE villain. And you KNOW People gave Chris Harrison a heads up before they published that article. So that recap was done AFTER they realized they have to get out in front of things and focus people's attentions on Luke rather than on Jed's possible douchenicity. Chris even tweeted that you can't believe everything you read. He knows SOMETHING beyond the surface of that story...

There is no way that Jed is a "good guy" even if he is now in love with Hannah he still went on the show with a girlfriend with no intention to fall in love with Hannah. Wasn't it only the second or third week that he revealed that he went there for his music but that his motives were changing? How did they change so fast? Just the idea that he would even come up with a sick scheme reveals he's not a good person and selfish and that he'll use others to get what he wants. Not sure why Hannah kept him after he revealed he was initially there for his music.

I usually love these break downs but this episode made me disappointed. Giving Luke a pass for his behavior this episode is insane to me. First he's essentially slut shaming her with the whole "your body is a temple" bullshit. She's a grown fucking woman and if she wants to bare some skin with another dude, SHE CAN, and she does not deserve to be shamed for it. Then he started saying things about how she's gonna make boneheaded mistakes and I instantly knew that when he was getting called out for it was gonna say that he meant that for the future. Also, using the word boneheaded is so mean, like really, you're gonna call her dumb? Then in the last conversation he tries to flip it on her, saying that she misunderstood him, heard him wrong or whatever. HE'S UNDERMINING HER LIKE HELL. His behavior is so freaking scary to me. He went from being someone who was just an asshole (like literally, a guy that couldn't get along with ANYONE in the house would have me reeling) to being a very scary, manipulative, controlling guy. His behavior is so toxic and shouldn't be excused. I can't WAIT until he goes home.
