The back streets of Central Blackpool by Night

I take a walk around the back streets of Central Blackpool, checking out a possible former residence of Mixie Walsh, a well known Blackpool character, who, according to stories, saw off the notorious Kray Twins. I wind the video up on a busy promenade with the Illuminations.

The Pleasure Beach is committing a slow suicide. 1 They are two expensive. 2. They do not stay open late enough. 3 They rarely have any new attractions 4. Although they open at 10am many of the rides are not even in operation till 11am or even later. 5. Often a large number of rides are out of service. 6. you cannot bring your own food in and the food in the park they sell is fiercely over priced and rank. 7. They never have any 'collect vouchers fee admisstion schemes- - unlike the parks in the Merlin group. I reckon the PBs days are numbered and they have done it themselves. It's very true - the party atmosphere is now on central and south piers in Blackpool - often rocking on late into the evening when BP has long since done lights out and gone to bed for the night

Well said, very well said. I used to go to the Pleasure Beach, and it was packed, stuffed to the ginals, and now I expect that is not the case. I refuse to enter because of the price alone matching the hours. Why have an entrance fee? I have never understood this as when I first saw this introduced it was plainly obvious that this was not going to end well. I hear that the entrance fee is going to rise, and that will prove to be the last nail in the coffin, and then what?

1. It costs a lot of money to run 10 rollercoasters. 2 they have 5 late riding nights a year and open till 10pm every night in October for Halloween events. 3. They have just bought a new million pound intamin gyroswing. 4. Your a moron

Lovely and I guess we have to move wirh the times. Can remember in the late seventies and was shoulder to shoulder on the promenade. Mum and Dad holding our hands tight. Shame about the pleasure beach, not great for families .

Mixie Walsh was a well known Blackpool gangster. Love watching the tide coming in and sad to see the decline of the Pleasure Beach, which will be closed down in a couple of years, the death knell the higher entrance fees to come into place. The old style worked well, with the Pleasure Beach, and for years, and it would work again if given half the chance. This new model of charging an entrance fee should never have been put in place. It must be losing money, hand over fist

It is always a contrast from the back streets to the prom. I think Pleasure Beach needs to start opening from 10am till 10pm on weekends & during high season & school holidays in autumn & spring & make concessions for people who don't ride. The sealife center was the fairground of the Golden Mile Centre ( Mr Bs )

Mixie Walsh lived on the corner house on kent rd, around the corner on Louise st lived the Wallace family worked the doors Jimmy and pat were good friends with mixie who drank in the life boat pub and stix nitespot with dermot,Yes I heard story in the early 80's they ran the krays out Stephen where you are in Video 3.46 by white car can you remember what shop use to be there in the 80's ? I'll give you a clue ? it had something to do with cars
