By the time Chadwick played that role and character he was already suffering a lot of physical and emotional pain from being terminally ill and dying. On top of having visited a hospital of terminally ill children, which also broke his heart during that time. I think he channeled all that pain into the role and sadly one could see how a person can break down in such a way purely out of sheer pain and hurt over not understanding why his life and the life of innocent children suffering in hospitals would end so soon and so painfully. I don't think we should judge with this understanding of knowing where he was at in this point in his life. He didn't write the role and as a dedicated actor he likely felt compelled to play the role regardless. I couldn't do it but then again, I also am not suffering the way he was. I hope he reconciled with his disappointment, immortality, God and transitioned in peace. May God rest his soul in peace and when judgement day comes, we all will meet the maker and answer for our deeds both good and bad. I do think God understands our inner turmoil when faced with tragedy, suffering and pain. They said even with being on pain killers he still was in a lot of physical pain (emotional pain as well though he often smiled through it all to keep others in good spirits) and would push through it all while on set and off set.

My thoughts are this "Let that young man rest in peace". He played a character that showed a lack of faith in God as many have done before and in the bible that you guys love to read and quote and half follow. A needed reminder for all the so-called Christians cursing this man in death is that God still forgave and loved those people because he is an awesome God full of forgiveness and understanding. Within the bible, it says some curse God when in despair while others show immense faith in him even after hitting rock bottom, yet God understands their heart and loves them still. Those are my thoughts and feelings on the matter. To even suggest that he died because of a role where he portrayed someone lacking faith is wild and distasteful. R.I.P Chadwick 🕊❤ - the good indeed die way too young 😭.

Then i saw all of the mean comments about his weight. Of course, being me, i stand up for those being shamed for going through life. The next day, it was brought to my attention, he had passed. @Longingforinvisible23 күн бұрын
I don’t think that is fair. People question their faith all the time. They question, curse, and challenge God and don’t die. I don’t think it had to do with his beliefs but depicting a character and a very real perspective and attitude. The thing I don’t like is when people become self righteous and pass judgement instead of embracing and uplifting those that have fallen out of faith. In John, Jesus is constantly telling people who question God how to find him instead of passing judgment. He demonstrates his faith as an example to follow. If you had to endure slavery, you don’t think you might slip. People leave God for less. The judgement and offence is where the enemy gets you.

He was playing a role. I'm the type of person who's always gonna speak out when Jesus/Christianity is being disrespected, I get it. But he was already sick during these films. He did not die because of the script, I think we can sometimes appreciate when something is a part of art & storytelling. If someone was disrespecting Christ in person constantly and doing things that's mocking God when it comes to films and music then I understand getting upset. He's playing a character that was clearly angry at God or had a negative view, which I find realistic considering I hear people say stuff like that in real life when they're hurt. Hollywood/media does disrespect Christianity when they know they would NEVER even try it with other people's faith. I think in this case it was storytelling, I don't think someone has to play roles that are similar to their real life beliefs and personality. I really think it depends on certain factors: what's the point/intent of the storyline? The intent of the movie? That matters. A lot of hollywood does things with the intent of being antichrist in general. I understand both perspectives.

I didn't care for Black Bottom in general, but as a person who fears God and takes him very seriously, i can say that this was him playing a real figure. Should a defining moment in a mans life be washed away because we fear repeating what someone said. What if you were a witness in court and you were asked to relay words spoken by someone before a horrendous event? There are movies out there that are completely fictitious and they say and do alllllll types of things for no good reason. I think a better indication is how he lived, how he died in peace, and the legacy he left. No ill secrets that came out, none of the crazy things that befall other celebrities. Ultimately, we don't have the answer, but i don't believe he was judged for words that did not come from his heart.

He was playing a character! The character was also allowed to get socked when he went too far with his anger towards God! So the playwright didn't agree with what the character was saying but wanted to show how angry that character was because he later was revealed to be out of his mind and very violent! He sounded so real because he was such a great actor! God knew what was truly in his heart as a man and as a Christian! RIP, brother! You are truly missed! 🙏 🤲

I remember when people were talking about him looking thin. I personally think that it scared alot of men. Outside the Internet i heard conversations about it but it was mostly black men talking about it. I couldn't comment because i didn't see him. Until after he passed and i saw 23 Bridges for the first time. He actually looked sick. But did a really good job pretending not to be.

I personally feel that Chadwick was sick before taking that role. Having said that, I personally would not have taken that role out of spiritual reasons not religious ones because I'm not a religious person. The Most High has blessed me with way too much that I couldn't imagine fixing my mouth saying something like that even in character.

I miss him terribly. He was my favorite actor, and I’ll never be over him passing away. And he came from a small town Christian family-I think the his final role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was simply just that. That scene apparently took quite a lot of energy out of him. As a Christian, I wouldn’t be able to get the words out of my mouth even for the role, but now that we know what he was going through, actively dying, it was probably cathartic. We won’t know until we get there-so instead of trying to damn him, I’m going to mind my faith and my business, hope he made it, and work on getting to Heaven myself.

Personally I believe we human beings are so fast to judge people when someone does or says something that is against our beliefs. That’s why I enjoy your videos so much. Always stating the facts and your beliefs with respect towards the beliefs of your listeners. Only God knows what was in this man’s heart and whether he was a righteous man in HIS eyes. Absolutely not one of us does the right thing ALL the time. I’m sad for this man’s finality and for the loss that his family and friends have had to endure.

Not just "feelings" but an energy & a frequency which can actually NEVER be rescinded. Our words & deeds go on before us & are heard & recorded by Yah's holy angels into out individual Book of Life. At His Beamah seat of judgement we ALL shall stand to give account of the deeds done & things said while alive on this earth. What will be any of our defense then " oh Yah, I was just joking" or acting a role...THAT was NOT MY thoughts although I did say them? Good try with that defense.

😢 a death that I’m STILL not over! The premiere of Black Panther was a MOVEMENT! I’m proud to see that someone who was born and raised in South Carolina made a name for themselves (born and raised and still live here myself) as far as the mockery 🤔 me personally I would’ve asked for that line to be rewritten! I wouldn’t have been comfortable with saying those lines! God is the ultimate judge so him saying that wasn’t a reason that he passed away in my opinion! You know how many people mock God EVERYDAY? 🤔 but let social media tell it to come up with conspiracy theories on a person’s life! 🙄

It amazes me that some people won’t accept that someone wrote a story or a script and actors play parts WRITTEN by others. It kids a story fiction or true so why have back lash against an actor for acting out a story. It’s ok for actors to act in the movie Purge and the many movies of violence and sex. Some Commercials insinuates sex….

If Chadwick was in the occult then he wasn't Christian anymore. The mocking may have been real. He picked low vibrational deities to worship. His time was up and another actor/industry may have sacrificed him.
@AliciaAmbrosia22 күн бұрын
God is MUCH bigger, MUCH greater than what many Christians allow their own rhetoric to reveal. God is aware of our humanity, He did the creating. If you claim to love God look at yourself primarily, check your judgement, especially if it is masked as “teaching” & “upholding”. P.S. It is a role! And possibly a profound moment for empathy for all of Gods children.

This film was based on a play by August Wilson. I saw it performed as a college student, and I had respect for the genuine agony of this character. The church is reacting like their god is so fragile and narcissistic that he punishes critics with lethal force. Black people were being terrorized and lynched during the Ma Rainey era. That pain deserves a compassionate response, not scorn.
