Honestly I'd agree with you in most cases, but this male lead really has no interest in the 'side tart' who's has a one-sided obsession with him and sees what she wants to see when it comes to his actions. For example when she says him 'giving her a taste of her own medicine' shows he cares about her when in reality he's just annoyed by her. She's built up this idea of who he is in her head and is adamant that 'I'm the one who knows him best. I'm the one who loves him most. I'm the only one who deserves to be with him.' when in reality it's all in her head and one-sided.
