The Bad Parts of Living in Brazil

My biggest issue living in Brazil 🇧🇷 is Brazilians don't give you any personal space 🤦🏾‍♂️🤣. I've been living here 3 years and counting, and strangers are extremely close to you while walking and especially while you're in line at stores. I respect that it's their culture to be close to each other, but it still bothers the hell out of me. This coupled with cell phone theft in Rio are my only 2 pet peeves. If you're a single brotha it's as close to paradise as I've ever seen 📜✍🏾💯

So you would think everyone would be on high alert especially when people are on they a** cheeks while in the grocery store line 🤣😭 It sounds like a small issue, but after years of unwarranted proximity, it never stops being annoying or uncomfortable. With that said Brazil 🇧🇷 is still the best country to live in for brothas, IMO.

It is going to take you at least 1 year of serious study to get fluent in basic Brazilian Portuguese. It does help if you speak Spanish, however not all words translate from Spanish to Portuguese. Learning a language takes time, especially with the slang.

I learned to speak Portuguese by Mixing With local people, I didnt Go to any class ir School , I Just listened to people, watched The news read The journals, was speaking Basic Portuguese in under 3 mónths. ❤

I make them run around for my change, it makes me angry that they charge me big money in some places. If you rent a car gas stations are good for breaking big bills, some places I don’t frequent because of this.

@@Sheilamoraes27 careterias, restaurants, bazaars I work with them I will tip them to ease the change situation When they even refuse my tip I just wait why they send someone to get change One day the infrastructure will go down and cash will be the only way you will eat. I was on line at the supermarket watching a guy in front of me go thru all his cards, none worked. Too much dependency on electronic transfers. You need to have emergency cash especially as a foreigner. I’m about 90% cash use. I can get good discounts buying things “a vista”

I know 4 sure you got more on that list than that surface stuff you threw out!!? My top 3 negative issues i had were. #1)The potential for crime in mass proportions. I know the “favaladas” will still hi-Jack buses& trains, mob rush mug whole beach’s . #2) General infrastructure …ie bad plumbing. So bad that you can’t flush toilet paper cause It will clog & back up the sewer pipes In the bathroom?!! So you gotta put in a trash bin! Streets that totally flood out when there’s more than an inch of rain. And you can’t (..or at least better not) drink the municipality water. #3) Brazilians can be just as racist as any American, if not excessively more! And I can go on for awhile, but in the end I love it there❤
