The bridge/solo section is of course 4/4 throughout, but I like to think of the "head" as a measure of each of the following: 6/4, 3/4, 6/4, 3/4, 7/8, 5/8, 7/8, 5/8, 5/4. **At 1:02/1:26, etc, Dave is simply modulating to a 4/4 feel over the existing 5/4 measure (Reid and Ethan still playing a grouping of 10 eighth notes over the 5/4). Depending on the instance, they may repeat that 5/4 bar a few times.

It's also polyrhythmic at times. 5:4, I believe. At 1:02, and at 1:26, for example. Quintuplets played over the same 4/4 rhythm.

Sorry, man. If you can't understand and appreciate that Jazz changes directions every now and then, and that it's always changed, then you don't like Jazz.
