The nature that gives us everything, today is surrounded. I consider it a sad account of the people of the tribe who are courageous in keeping their traditions alive. I feel short of words to express my respect and humble regards for recording and uploading the annual seasonal migration of the Bakarwals for the larger audience. Though this recommendation just appeared randomly on KZbin , It is worth watching many times to know and understand the nomadic lifestyle of the pastoralist communities in jammu province of Jammu Kashmir. We have another nomadic pastoral community called Gaddis (Sheep herders) in the upper reaches of Kathua and Bhaderwah Districts also.I have been to all these places being mentioned in the video with my friends long ago. Thank you MaM 🙏for making me relive my memories. And yes special thanks once again to videograph and to show to the world these beautiful people, who still practice centuries old life style and profession. Though their future looks difficult to survive the speed of modernization and Development, which will take away their pastures 🏞. Regards 🙏

I have seen the nomadic people of nepal and ladakh struggle with the exact same issues. From the influemce of roads and the younger generation not wanting/willing to carry forward this lifestyle. Love the whistle lesson...nice job on the video

Bakarwal's life is a very difficult life At least 4 to 5 lakhs every year migrate to the mountains But they don't get anything from the government.Especially Scheduled Tribe status they are there only in name But they don't get any benefit from it .Any tribal policy does not reach But their names are on the paper only

They nomadic tribes. Always roam place to place. Their life is tough. Live stock is source of income. Previously Kashmir govt exploited gujjar & Hindu Sc/ St. Congr & PDP govt did not pay attention & did not settle them. Since then Modi govt came, they got house foods and basic infrastructures. Children are taking education & coming in the main stream of nation. Congr & separatists awfully exploited nomads
