I really like how Agatha's character is just super impulsive and opportunistic. She just dived into Wanda's spell to see what was going on and to potentially steal power, she immediately used the road becoming a myth as her next con, she went along with Lilia's list just because it was in front of her, she went along with the road becoming real (but tried to escape the moment it became clear how "real" it was) because it was the easiest choice, she got attached to billy just because he vageuly reminded her of Nicky, etc. She fr has like zero impulse control

One small detail I noticed is that for this version of the ballad, Agatha is the only one that’s singing especially for the first verse, signifying that not many witches know the lyrics. But even then during the chorus you can tell that the the dominant voice is hers. Ngl, I got emotional when I saw our favorite coven at the end of the song’s sequence. I love the acting from Kathryn Hahn here as she performs the acting alchemy neccesary to make the Agatha Through Time section feel so, SO earned. The Sudden anger at the interruption from her grieving, the confusion over what the fuck this witch is on about, the dawning realization, disbelief, frustration and new wave of anger at how something so personal has spiralled so wildly into such an empty fantasy-and all the while, the pieces of her opportunity falling in place in her mind, being mortared together by a lifetime of her experience with witches, her consequences (personally chosen or spiralled out of her control, we get suggestions but never a clear answer for) delivered at the hands of witches-"my gift is to take power from the unworthy"-all of it building into one self, one self that was always going to come to be. A moment of consideration, a mental last glance at everything, and then, with a reclasp of a brooch and some easy, empty words- we arrive, unerringly, at the woman who would go down, down, down THIS witch's road. It was Agatha, All Along.

That's what I got from this scene because grief can make a person do things that they normally wouldn't do. It's better to accept the fact that she is in fact evil. She probably became evil long before that, when her coven betrayed her. She is not doing things she doesn't normally do, she is doing things that are normal to her. It's clear that she doesn't care about people's lives and feelings, the only exception is her son (and now billy possibly because he reminds her son). She was made a villain after a betrayal, but she is still a villain. She doesn't do good things, she only does things that serves her interests. She didn't sacrifice herself for billy out of the goodness of her heart, but because he reminded her of her son. Not all villains must be a poor misunderstood soul, some are just evil and it's a good change to see this sometimes.

​@@pauloabrantes383 The last scene, where the girls wear dark clothes a bit of a gothic style, we only see two blasts on Agatha, whereas on the other witches i have the impression that it's a bit zoomed out so we can the four blasts, maybe they just teleported or flew away, the sucking ability of Agatha seem to last a little bit. It's just me being delusional they probably all died but MAYBE, we never know xD

The thing that gets me is that if Agatha let enough people live to spread knowledge of the song she could later prey upon, there must have been some coven that attempted to walk the road by themselves and would have seen the spell not work. Word would have gotten around the song had issues. Also, how lucky is she that no witch ever hesitated in attacking her long enough to see it killing the others?

Any con relies on being able to pick a mark. A witch that follows her impulse to the degree of trusting a dubious stranger inviting her in the woods for a famed power-up is the equivalent of someone who falls for an obvious phishing email : idealistic, probably naive, not necessarily very experimented with magic (if they don't know the existence of Agatha's succubus magic-draining trick)... and very likely to be so ashamed at all of the above upon reveal that they follow the impulse and start blasting.

I mean we see it at the start of the show, they all thought the Road was a myth or a legend, they only came because they were in desperate situations. Lillia is having problems with her Future Sight and being short on Money, Alice is looking for her Mother or more wanting to confirm if the Road is real and if its real to maybe find her Mother, Jennifer was bound and was also having money problems as she was being sued. Every one of them did not believe in the Road and it's clear many witches see it as a myth or legend. They only went along as if it was a Hail Mary, it was worth a shot if it would mean escaping their plight and solving their problems. If it was not real, they would have just left and looked for other ways to solve said issues.

It is said in the show that other witches tried before and failed, and that now most witches consider it a legend. As for the witches attacking her, what surprises me is not that much that they attacj but that they attack all at the same time. They are no friends, just there by convenience, and they have an ego big enough to think they can survive the road. I guess she keeps insulting until they attack. Though it would have been more clever if she pretends to attack so they attack back.

I feel like the road are for people desperate for something, so they are already likely to be emotional and for those people the road would be the only option, so the hopelessness can make people more vulnerable to other negative emotions. People are likely to jump into the second stage of grief right away when provoked in those situations, which is anger.
