Funny how Jackie Gleason is so fondly remembered.but when he was in a funeral home on west Dixie highway in Miami nobody showed up..ya I was driving down state road 7 and seen a sign out front that read... Jackie Gleason public viewing today all welcome...so I stopped and went in...I was the only one there.. seems like he was forgotten long ago..and this was in the ..I wanna say late 80's...

Wrong shaker decal. 6.6 litre was the 403 olds engine. It was 6.6 ta for the 400 pontiac. Dont know why that bothers me so much. Lol

Pontiac also put the 180 hp 400 (and the 200 hp 400 used the TA.6.6 decal) in those cars which also used the 6.6 litre decal in 1977.

Just saw two different 81 turbo trans ams over the past month on fb marketplace. The first needed a ton of bodywork, seller was asking $18K. The second was mint with original decals for $65K.

Most people have over 70k in just Thames’s restoration projects so 70k is a great deal. It will be worth a lot more in time.

Its a great mod, Elder alum heads intake save 100# over fort end & up comp on a 180hp dog to close to 400hp!!!Car is not a T/A Per Pk 220hp(4spd only) a little better 400P dog. A Classic beauty🚔🚧🤠

T-tops don't look right. Those look like the Hurst hatch tops used up until 76.

Actually, the hurst t-tops started in 1976 with the SE and continued half way through 1978. The movie car had Hurst hatches. Only 110 Trans Ams with 455s and T-tops were ever made (all in '76 of course). I only know of 3 such cars to exist, but I'm sure there are more out there hiding somewhere.

Should see the few sitting in peoples drive ways doing nothing or the ones with 10k price tags here and around the area. There's oddly A LOT of these in a good 40 mile radius of my city.

The bridge jump was done by a 455 car. And it was actually a '76 with the '77 front end LOL.

@@justinriley8651 30-35 yrs ago, I read that all the cars used in the movie were '76s, not '77s. They had 400s or 455s only. 455 trans ams were plentiful. A 350 would have required more work to transplant than most movie makers are willing to do, especially to get the shaker hood to look right. And since Pontiac supplied ALL the trans-ams, why mess with them?

It has edelbrock heads, so it prob has a cam as well. I'd guess 375hp and 450 ft lbs torque.
