I just hope they all do away with ghost heat. That was one of my biggest complaints. With 10 Ultra AC2s, 4 Ultra AC10s, or 8 LRM 15s, they would all have serious heat issues if not.

Firemoth has been stated to never be coming to MWO because it's basically impossible to balance around due to spaghetti net code.

Way back when the Invasion packs brought Clans into the game, I remember it being discussed. The reason I remember from back then against the Fire Mother's also applied to the Fireball, when speed approaches or exceeds 200kph, the code cannot handle it. I don't recall specifics being given just that moving too fast caused things to break down. Based on that, no Fireball, Fire Moth/Koshi, Ice Hellion, etc. I always thought it would still be funny to see, though. Imagine that custom Fireball in BT that had around 300kph running around. Those Mechs on MASC would essentially be teleporting and with the wonky net code, they would probably actually be teleporting.

Very glad they've finally chosen to counter the current long range sniping assault scared to share armor meta that we have going on by introducing one of the most dedicated long range sniping assaults..... that being said, it is a beautiful model and definitely looks interesting, if I ever played assaults I might pitch a tent and give it a try.

0:53 Logic is pretty sound. They have high poly model assets they can edit between games. It would make sense to save on costs and to populate the game with stuff that comes from one to the other. So far mechs that have been in MW5 or MWO have been seen in the other and vice versa. Longbow / Hatchetman / Roughneck / Crusader / Etc.

I can't remember the last time they added a light mech other than the Christmas Commando last year. Which I missed out on because I was out of town for holiday, go figure. Light mechs just don't bring in the money that Assaults do, unfortunately.

well these are 10 UAC 2 ... so 20 dmg per tap, and additional 20 on doubletap from 900m optimal range ... i can't call that trolling but simply a PITA

My friend loved the Rifleman and Jagermech, and has always done well as the distance-support guy. So I showed him the Bane. The moment he heard about the 10 UAC/2s, he said, and I quote "I love it." That's all he needed. He'd use that mech the way it's supposed to be used, which is NOT at point blank ranges.

when it comes to assaults you usually won't want to use the majority of them at pointblank/CQC anyway most have mid range weapons and otherwise are sniper or firesupport platforms ... for CQC mechs you'd rather want mechs with higher rated engines along with MASC/supercharger ... and even if assault mechs have more of a focus on CQC they tend to have some mid or long range back up

They really need to make the special equipment, like the Modified Ballistic Loader, buyable in the mechlab and equippable on any mech. Imagine putting a shield on any mech, or a partial wing or whatever else they'll come up with.

I have posted on the forums asking for the Bane/Kraken as an assault for a long time. I will be buying the pack. If they add something that I liked from BT, I buy it. I don't buy other games so buying new stuff is my way of supporting PGI and the game. I have been playing since Beta and I get enjoyment from the game. To me, it seems fair to support a game I have played for over a decade. It would be nice to see some more Light and Medium Mechs, though.

Ditto here. I feel that with this pack I will do more damage and die less, than in the Founder Mechs I bought (which I still enjoy nonetheless, every once in a while), and supporting the game is a plus too.

Back in the 80's early 90's I made a mech called the cupid that had 10 UAC 2's. I would sit at the edge of the table/board and just double tap everything from long range. We called it the cupid since each hit was only 2 damage to random locations. I would usually soften up one target from medium up to assault mech targets. It was a great mech. With actual aiming I wonder how this will perform. I assumed that both side torsos would have ballistic hard points but that single torso with 4... wow.

While it will most likely not be very good with its default loadout of 10 AC2s I would try it at least onces for just the sheer daakkaa. I hope the ammunion loader will become a standart we can add to other mechs as an equipment to change LB-X to slugs.

Rifleman IIC and Uktraviolet worked well with AC2's. I liked using them at medium and short range as much as long range.

all im gonna say is if they just made a sniper mech that is like having two mechs shooting at one target there better be so big drawbacks like not enough ammo to do over 1000 damage or it runs so hot you have you cant just sit somewhere and constantly shoot for the whole match

The most recent chassis designs have looked amazing. I love them all and bravo to the designers. However, $104AUD for the pack is pretty insane for a few mechs (that's about the price of a new release conle game these days! not that I would buy one). It's basically so unaffordable that I would wait until they are available for c-bills. Might buy a Legendary variant if that becomes available down the track.

so having looked at the variants again, even with the width of this chassis i am a bit concerned on the number of high mounts specifically the bane 6 (with ecm) if it has the energy mounts in the lifted weapon pod then this thing more so than any other longrange build will be a massive PITA to deal with easy alpha ERPPC+ERLarge+dual AC5s and then either MGs or AP gauss as back up and having quickly skimmed over all other heavy and assault chassis there is no chassis that has this many highmounted hardpoints like the bane kraken has the marauder has 2, the blood asp gets up to 4 and stone rhino get to have up to 6 (one variant with 8) the bane looks to easily have 8 cockpitlevel or above weaponmounts, and 6 that are slightly below cockpit have to look at the bullshark again (which yet has to be available for c-bills) soooo yea gonna be suffering for 6 months until this is available for c-bills, too

sry for multiposting as i drop these in as i am watching the video "not a normal look as far as battletech" honestly if you compare the depictions of it on sarna to this the improvement is worlds of difference like some of the earlier designs are just anywhere between meh and ... ooooof the depiction in the "regognicion guide" looks good ... a bit chunky ... but not exactly outstanding imo the MWO depiction imo takes that but stylises the head and exagarates the ballistic arms, the latter likely because of the MWO typical hardpointsystem that i'd argue brings a bit of limitation to the flexibility in how to design certain areas of the mech (compare to that f.e. the urbanmech addin more energieweapons or highlander with armmounted PPCs of how it places additional weapons that weren't in the original stockdesign) one could criticize the design of going a bit too much in the anime route of stylizing mechs but then again battletech has plenty anime inspired (or straight up copied) designs so the bane looking like another macross/robotech inspired design may aswell bother nobody at this point ... (still screw you forever harmony gold)
