After customs and border control: Do not use the ATM's, the ATM charge is THB 220. Go downstairs to the train station (level 1), you can change your cash dollars or Euro's there. Bring EUR100 and EUR200 bills.

Do you have to feel in arrival card still when. Arriving in Bangkok? I think it’s the tm6 form..I am only here for 11 days.. as a British citizen

cool, thanks. That was helpful. I've been hinted, that getting a local sim card in a 7/11 is an even cheaper option for mobile internet :)

Ahhh Bangkok. I didnt think to take the sky train from the airport. But after 11 hours of flying I didn't have the energy to think so much. The taxi driver at the air port didn't actually know where my Hotel was, in the center of down town Bangkok and I had to pull out my google maps to show him. The fair was agreed on based on the sign he had in the car, no meter. I think it was 700 BAT., 2022. he wanted 800 but I pointed to his own sign. The traffic is crazy, but listen no one is on their horn. I rode my bike all over Bangkok it was easy and safe, I felt right at home. Looking forward to more of your tips.
@GregorBrown Жыл бұрын
Drew, navigating Bangkok right after a long flight can definitely be a challenge! The sky train is a great option for next time. It's public transit system is second to none! It's impressive how you managed the taxi situation and even more so that you explored Bangkok by bike - not everyone's up for that adventure! 🚴♂️ Bangkok's traffic is indeed a world of its own, but it sounds like you adapted quickly. Keep an eye out for more travel tips, and happy future journeys! 🌏✈️

Do you still have to fill in an arrival card when landing in Bangkok or have they got rid of the tm6 form??
@GregorBrown2 ай бұрын
It depends on your country. Where are you from? US people now have 2-month stays on tourist visas, and you don't have to fill out a form.
@onalonan Жыл бұрын
Hi 💕💕Yes cash for the tourist but Bangkok people they rarely use cash my friend You have to open the bank account and put your money in your wallet and used the QR code in your phone apps to pay and yes you can use the QR code to pay at any malls, any supermarkets, any food courts in the mall, any grocery stores, nearly most shops any restaurants any foodchains like McDonald, KFC, burgerking, Tacobell, Starbucks or even any street vendors and also at any 7-11 at every streets and use to call and pay to taxi, use to pay to BTS skytrain and MRT underground train, pay any house bills and phone bills and internet bills and pay to most Vending machines and all using your apps in the phone to pay my friend. Hope you have a great time here in Bangkok my friend you are very welcome.💕💕💕

@onalonan Thanks for sharing such valuable insights! 💕 I've definitely noticed the shift towards digital payments in Bangkok. It's fascinating to see how similar it is to WeChat Pay in China. For travelers like myself, the convenience of QR codes and app payments is something to aspire to. It would be incredibly handy if foreigners could easily set up and top up a QR-based payment system. Carrying cash and coins can indeed be cumbersome. Your detailed breakdown is super helpful. Appreciate your warm welcome and the great advice! 📱🌏✨
@onalonan Жыл бұрын
@@GregorBrown in case if you do not have the Thai bank account there are also another apps wallets like "true money wallet" that also very useful too you can use to pay at any malls and grocery stores, supermarkets and any 7-11 too just top up the money but I'm not sure what a requirement to register you'd better check it out my friend because I also saw a lot of foreigners used it to scan the QR code to pay here in Bangkok before but I'm not sure they have to have the Thai bank account or not. And yes Wechat also can used to scan the QR code to pay here too my friend I saw a lot of Chinese tourists used to pay at 7-11 here before.
@GregorBrown Жыл бұрын
yeah, 7-11 said I could use WeChat pay. I might start doing that. I could imagine in the near future there's a top-up, pre-pay option for tourists to get a QR code. You see in China, many small stands do not even take cash now. Are you Thai and live in BKK?
