The only guests that get taken along on "investigations" by the various groups are usually so called competition winners or something like that who are more than likely mates of the particular team and therefore will keep up the facade. Or possibly paid to do so. Taking Ben along would be a liability.

This also reminded me of 2 things. I'm nearly 60 and I grew up in and have lived my adult life in VERY rural areas. I grew up "in the sticks" (as we Americans like to call it). So first I will tell you, and I know my fellow forest dwelling folk will affirm), when you abide there and it is your normal way of living, you DO grow accustomed to seeing in the pitch black woods. The human body is amazingly adaptable! I've had this discussion with others over the years. Add to that, when my sister and I were very young, if we had spent time at our grandparents house and we had to walk up a big hill to get home. And behind our house were TONS of forest/woods. We were scared that some maniac was hiding in them waiting to attack us! So, my older sister, in all of her wisdom had devised a plan! (And Ben, when you mentioned acting crazier than the other people, I suddenly remembered this! lol!). Her brilliant theory was that if we made ourselves look as unappealing in every way, they would for sure NOT want us or anything to do with us! So we would pull out all the stops! Walking in the manner of the hunchback of Notre Dame! Dragging on Legg behind us and making all manner of unintelligible and ghastly noises and drooling! LMFAO! So, it was either an epic plan as we remained unscathed! (or, more likely...there was NOBODY stalking us!) LOL!! That said, that plan of defense is I think the most brilliant and most non- confrontary way of dealing with a situation like that.

Yeah, exactly, a normal person can see in low light conditions, because the human eye does have a bit of ability to see in lower lights, the "corner of the eye" can see a lot better than the center of the eye, but just not in color. If you live in a place with very little light pollution, like out in the sticks as you said, your eyes get real accustomed to natural light and the lack of it. So you can see in darkness well enough, maybe not as good as say a cat or dog, but you get real used to it. I used to have that ability when I was younger, but years of sitting in front of computers and using cellphones, let alone living in places with more artificial light in them like a standard city, I feel it has diminished a lot. That and I am sure age hasn't helped either, but I still got better vision in darkness than most I know.

I was doubled over in laughter at how freaked out people get when encountering us rural dweller's meanderings! Yes! We CAN see in the dark! There's no light pollution out here. And I (personally) would stalk and confront anyone creeping around my land in the dark (I'm a middle aged housewife). Nearly every rural person you see in the US is armed at night (whether you can tell or not). Also, even when a town is declared abandoned, there's almost always a few people who remain (much like the farmsteads around Chernobyl). You only need to worry if you hear banjos playing!!!😂🤣😁

Thank you, Ben ! Natural night vision in rural areas is the real deal. I know, I live it. In total darkness, with no moonlight I can see a dark ringed racoon at 50 feet fairly easy. Ones hearing gets highly sensitive as well. Almost deer like. Mississippi is not the only State where it is not wise nor safe to just walk into the woods like that. Especially without prior permission. Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, N. Carolina, S. Carolina and Kentucky all have people living their daily lives in the backwoods away from urban areas. Arkansas is probably the same. The people are there for various reasons and are very protective and defensive of their territory (space). No different than a bear. To a city dweller a defensive space can be 6 feet or less. To a long term rural dweller, that defensive space could be 60 acres or even more. My advice... don't do it. If you do, tread lightly and if you hear a twig snap behind you, (Borrowing a special word from Ben). RUN!!!! 😳

That’s horrible. My Mum suffered from those. Hopefully, you can find something that helps. I live with epilepsy, and it took me a long while to find something that stops the seizures. I hope you find something soon. ❤ btw, I’ve been to Norway. I remember it being freezing cold, but I was wrapped up in a fur, sitting watching the water, with about the tastiest hot chocolate imaginable. I went to see the longboat, and I bought some cute wine toppers that looked like elves, or little men with long white beards lol. What a beautiful country.

it was so nice of their attacker to wait far from the trap and even wait till he got into the car before attempting to attack..... I don't know why the hell you wouldn't bring a gun with you if you are going to go explore abandoned buildings, but I think these guys fake everything. it always just seems too perfect, not saying you couldn't run into some crazies in the woods but why the hell would you take your sweet ass time getting back into the car when you are clearly in a trap AND you think you see someone. then to just sit there and wait for the guy to run up on you before driving off, if it isn't fake they were really dumb for doing that. anyway Great video Ben! Random thoughts if this were a movie: The setup:: Ben, Casey, and Colton on a ghost/paranormal hunt.... personality evaluation - by some random mid-west chic. Casey is the level-headed one. He would be the one with the sage sticks sticking out of his outfit. Don't forget the salt containers in the cargo pants pockets. Carries a holy water-filled super soaker, standing in one spot, shooting holy water, while making the Rambo face. Runs out of water, well, at least he's got the salt to sprinkle. Colton, (Sorry dude), you're the one that runs off screaming, swinging your machete. Then there's Ben,... Rambo-ing it. Geared up, carrying every bible known to man, every type of holy-water-filled super soaker; has the 10 lb bag of salt on his back, and has sage sticks burning head to toe. He runs towards said entity, yelling whatever the noise that Rambo makes, and shoots holy water in every direction he thinks the entity is at. ... because he forgot his glasses. For craps sake, don't forget the headband! Gotta have the headband! After the invisible battle of the whatevers, Ben walks back to where Casey is standing, looking disheveled, but still wearing the headband! They both realize Colton is missing. They followed the path of the chopped vegetation. They find Colton, in the vehicle, hiding under the blanket in the back seat. (Again, Sorry Colton). The End
