In today's The Bard's Tale IV Director's Cut video guide, I am going to show you all how to cheese and defeat The Redcap in HaernHold. In the The Bard's Tale IV Redcap are the toughest foes you will ever face in the game. Even more tougher than the story bosses. With my in depth video guide you will cheese the Redcap. You have heard me cheese them so bad that you will want to use this tactic throughout the entire game. So let's get to my How to defeat Redcap In Haernhold Video guide and cheese them. I know I'm late into this, but this is good stuff. This series has really helped me! I found the Lute of Compulsory Cavorting outside the Adventurer's Guild, but unable to find the master crafted one in Bones in the Fog. I know it's been a year, but any clue where I might find it? Keep these things up, I'll be following your newer stuff too!

Thank you and welcome to the channel. If I remember that lute I found it in the castle during Blood of Kings. Master Craft stuff starts to drops there. If you see one hold onto it.

@@LordFentonGaming In my case, the master crafted lute was found (after my question) in the chest right before you battle the dwarf king. The regular lute worked OK against the first redcap, but I didn't have elven wine, so I was drinking other stuff and got drunk, which cancelled the stun! Thanksfully we were close to the end and I survived. Off to battle the dwarf king!

Using the horn of Shofar you can do this same thing infinitely to any boss as long as you have enough alcohol. Using the zero cool downs ability allows for you to use the dance every turn, attacking multiple times with god spear will make it do no damage. and charge your mages during the dance.

I didn't know about the horn. Still this method you can really cheese the rest of the game and it's worth doing.

@@LordFentonGaming yeah this is what I did early on but I had problems getting the 8 drunk. Not enough elven wine at that point. But later with this it only needs 7. So that's 1 more free opportunity with more control over the drunk stat after the first few. Killed the redcaps and the king without getting stunned from drunk or taking a single hit.

I can't remember exactly where the horn was. But I think it's in the black wolf dungeon. Somewhere around that point I think. This game doesn't have nearly the wikipedia info it deserves.

@@alephnole7009 Very cool. Happened to me on a few playthroughs I was doing videos on for testing. I think higher the int the less likely your going to get drunk. My bard was high on int thanks to some items I've found here.

Hi Lord Fenton e thanks for your videos that helped me so much in the choice of party skills and in puzzles. I'm trying to fight my first redcap using your method. My bard has the Lute of Compulsory Cavorting equipped and when he uses the song of compulsory cavorting, the redcap begins to dance, but on the first attack with a sword the focus is broken and the redcap stops to dance. I really don't understand why. My party is at level 27 and I have the Director's Cut version 4.20.1. Thanks for your help!

My pleasure that my BT 4 videos helped you to this point. First you have a Master Crafted Lute. If so you need to have 5 stacks of drunk on your bard while using the Compulsory Cavorting. This way you can attack those bloody Redcaps while they are dancing. If not than use the first for your rogues and fighters to not to attack while your casters get some spell points. Once you have the five stacks Redcaps are toast basically with my method. This took me many hours to figure it out and when I did I've applied for the rest of the game.

The thing the you made me understand is that the bard need 6 stucks of drunk for the passive ability to work (and it is written in the Lute properties). I play this title because in the early '90s I played Bard's Tale 3 on Commodore Amiga, maybe the first RPG of my life and I had some nostalgia. Thanks again, you do a great job with these videos.

@@aspisio Very cool on playing the Bard's Tale 3 on the Amiga. I started out on the first game on the Amiga. That system was way ahead of it's time. If they would of gotten their stuff together we all be using Amigas today. That's why I was building up in the first dance phase than after that my stack was there and boom. You did that and owned it. I would use that stuff on bosses later on in the game. Glad you passed it and thanks for enjoying my videos.

@@sonycmanvr This what the skill reads. Might be a bug or if one person is a veteran they all get the benefit: Passives: Veteran: Your inner strength gives your power. Deal +2 true damage for every spell points you posses.

If I remember I had to crowd control that boss with the dance song with the bard in the party than start taking them out one at a time. I am not sure if they nerfed that sucker after I've played the game.
