I kinda get the feeling that Yellow doesn't really know who all gets what upgrades: I feel like, if he'd rushed Imp and got Monks, Halbs, and Cannons, he might have actually been able to push through and maybe kill Blue, though he'd still probably get overwhelmed by Grey first. Throwing melee units into a chokepoint against a gunpowder civ is always going to be...iffy.

1:09 I don't know why the player walled with a barracks there, but consider: a palisade wall would provide effectively three tiles to attack against, at 250 hit points each. The barracks provides three tiles to attack against (that the enemy can reach) and the total hit points divided by those surfaces is 400. Plus villagers can easily sit on the inside and repair it without fear of damage.

Except that a pallisade wall costs 3 wood and barracks 175, so for the same price you could have like 20 layers of walls.

Just a suggestion- might get buried. But T90 why dont you record at 4K 60 with enhanced graphics? By the time 1080p gets uploaded to youtube the game is kind of blurry, especially if its blown up to a screen larger than a computer monitor. Just food for thought

He doesn't have to record in 4k. It would be enough to increase the bitrate for the captured video. The video are bigger in size in comparison, but still lower in size than with 4k videos. Also, he certainly is editing his videos, he don't have to go that far down in the bitrate in the editing tool either. I mean, yes, lower file sizes means faster uploads, but the quality goes also down significantly. Third option: He goes back to twitch, and is uploading his streams directly via twitch to KZbin, without editing. The uploads via Twitch are faster - you don't even need to have your PC on anymore - and the quality is enough for KZbin.

I must be doing something really wrong... Like srsly. I'm just between 800-900 elo currently and I'm getting wrecked everytime I play 1vs1.. Not once I get people which play like those in your LEL videos. Every enemy I encountered so far, knew their stuff. And I realle have more gamesense etc. like these guys in the LEL videos..

then you should be a much lower elo.

If you get wrecked every time, your elo is not right, you will get lower, 700 maybe, and then start winning about 50% of the time.

@@jhonviel7381 Than the elo ranking is somehow bad, like in every other competitive game. (CsGo, Valorant etc.) If I watch low elo matches around 700-900 elo in AoE2, it's almost like people play like they never know the basics of competetive AoE2 and they doing some random stuff. But as I said, if I play some matches, I somehow always get matched up against people, which know how to play more competitive. It's not like I'm stupid, because untill Imp, I'm mostly fine. I always produce villager, I almost have no idle villager time, a few military depending on the enemy units, my economy is fine, I'm in the next age sometimes earlier, sometimes just a few secs later than my opponent, I know the pro and cons of most of the civs snd units etc. So I at least know some stuff. I mean.. I'm playing ay AoE2 since 1999/2000, but just started Online with the DE version. I know, there is plenty of room of improvements for me - I don'tsee myself at 1000 elo atm- , but I totally don't play "bad" like these in those low elo videos. And that's why it's a little confusing for me, seeing people like that at the same elo range as me. 2vs2, 3vs3 feels a bit more balanced, as far as I experienced it.

​@@mehrsauphmann121 Not if you get all in from 3 of 4 players, thats also a thing in team games to just remove one player from enemy team early on. I think that the game seems a lot more simple if you watch it and thus u think you play way better. Some players is doing one trick over and over and it works and it will work until u get more experienced players. But i get it, when i started i usually get people with same elo but with 100-500 played games - so its the experience that matters more than elo. For example if u get weak opponents at 1000 elo you will get to 1100 in no time, but good luck staying there. In the end, its just the number.

@@krystofcisar469 Just had this once or twice in Team games. Every other match were just fine imo. Everyone helped each other in defending, attacking etc. Sometimes successful, sometimes not so much. But still, it never felt like on team was totally destroying the other team. It was as U said, more balanced.

I only really watch the low elo series and It's been a while since we've had a straight up 1v1 LEL match that feels like LEL. Is that ever coming back? Real legends, like isit, or ace, guys with their quirks that make them LEL, not fans that have donated to be in a large team game like the last one, knowing it's going on YT even if it isn't a good video. (It wasn't btw, the attention starved 12 yr olds typing to YT was beyond painful, I couldn't even finish it.) Hopefully not, I've really enjoyed the LEL series up until recently.

He has to spectate random games that are being played. Maybe he misses 50 "good" LEL matches while he spactates a "bad" one. You can log in to aoe and try to find games like that. Also you can try to donate to the stream and see if that will ever get you into community games ( it won't )

@@TheAxelFII No disagreement there, It is random while he's streaming, but he can and does pick and choose from the streams what's good enough for YT. That is the job of a content creator, and why he gets paid to watch/cast AoE. My point is that the more recent videos specifically to the lel section have been lacking and partly due to more team games and a lack of focus on individual low elo players, but that's just my own opinion. The last video upload prior to this one with people from his community seemed like he was just phoning in two different ideas into one video with the clusterunion of a putting a bunch of community guys into a match and calling it lel and deciding it would be on YT before the match even played makes it seem like he's just not putting the effort into his low elo casts that he use to, and I hope it comes back around to what made it popular in the first place.

@@TheInfamousHerb apologies in advance for the essay i'm about to write in the comments of this video, i am one of the elusive "dawn of the new world fans" prophesized in myth since the beginning on time. please note that i'm not writing this in bad faith or to attack the review or the reviewer because you're "shitting on a game i like", most of your criticisms are things that are understandable and some i actually wholeheartedly agree with myself, especially on the way the cast of the first game is written as well as the . i don't care about the opinions of others in regards to this game, everyone is free to hate it all they like. if you're going to read this comment, please read it with that in mind. dawn of the new world started off as a game that was just supposed to be set in the same world as symphonia, but hundreds of years in the future with no characters from the original game being present with the exception of genis and raine since they're half-elves. execs at bamco wouldn't allow the writers to go through with the story that they wanted to tell and they were forced to write a direct sequel that took place just a few years after the first game concluded, solely for fanservice. they wanted fans of the first game to come back and give them their money to see their favorite characters from symphonia back, because "fanservice good!" but in this case the fanservice actually ended up harming how dotnw was received, at least in the west (dawn of the new world is actually relatively well-liked in japan). dotnw should have never so heavily tied to the first game and the writers didn't want it to be, and i'm sure they were aware that the game the story they were being made to write was going to make a lot of people upset. it's not fault of the writers themselves, but the bamco execs who meddled in the creation process and now for my only gripe with this review. it's admittedly frustrating to hear you shit on emil while not acknowledging the amount of trauma he's been put through. dude was literally abused and treated like shit by everyone around him from the moment he was born and you think he's going to act in any way that isn't pure terror and anxiety? your opinions on emil boil down to "this male protagonist has deep-seated trauma and anxiety as a result of his abusive upbringing, he's not manly or strong therefore he's a terrible protagonist!". he is the way he is for a reason, and you completely ignored that in favor of calling him a pussy when the way he behaves is realistic to the circumstances of his living situation. you can't honestly say you would act any different if your "parents" were murdered in front of you as basically an infant (yes, emil was practically just born in the first cutscene of the game) and then you were shipped off to live with your aunt and uncle who beat you and abused you every single day of your life for years until the day you moved out. you're allowed to dislike him of course, but this was a bit excessive. on another note, i'm surprised that you stooped to making negative comments/jokes about mental illness to get across how you hated the way characters are written in this game. i really thought you were above that and i can't help but feel disappointed. you might as well have called colette the r slur when you were talking about how she was written. as someone with BPD i felt personally insulted when you used it as a cheap jab at marta's trauma response of being angry at the person she and many others blame for their lives and families being destroyed. you could have easily not have included any of these insulting, stereotypical jabs at mental illness out of the video and nothing would have changed, the quality would have been better. i hope this doesn't come off like i'm questioning your integrity as a person, and if it does then i'm sorry, but i feel that i'm allowed to be disappointed in a youtuber i like for picking the low-hanging fruit that is making insulting jokes about mental illness to substitute actual thought-out criticism on how a character was written. again, this comment isn't written in bad faith or to attack the review or the reviewer. yes i like this game but i know that most of the criticisms come from a place of love for the original and i even share some of the opinions present in this video, as i said at the start. those opinions are wholly warranted and understandable. that, however, doesn't absolve this review from the criticism of viewers. i could hate dawn of the new world and i'd still have the exact same criticisms i have with the video and its script. i'm not even disappointed that the review is overly negative, i expected that and was prepared. i'm disappointed in the lack of proper criticism and thought that is characteristic of your reviews. none of that is present here, and is instead replaced with a frustrated and angry rant that is entirely unenjoyable to watch and listen to. there is no storytelling and analysis, just vitriol.
