The Base Model GAC EMKOO GE Is Not So Base After All! [Car Review]
The 2024 GAC Emkoo GE is the base model Emkoo here in the Philippines, but it has a bunch of features that does not make it a base model. In this Filipino car review, we take a good look at the 2024 GAC Emkoo GE to see what those features are. The GAC Emkoo GE is priced really well for a compact crossover, coming in at the same price as most value subcompact crossovers from China. The 2024 GAC Emkoo represents a fantastic value in this sense, because you get a larger SUV at the price of a subcompact SUV. The 2024 GAC Emkoo GE also has more features than even the top-spec subcompact crossovers like the Geely Coolray and even the Chery Tiggo 7 pro. Both of these smaller crossovers have a higher price than the 2024 GAC Emkoo GE. The GAC Emkoo GE even has a lower price than the base model Ford Territory, but the GAC Emkoo has more features as well.

Yes your right, without a low gear or at least tiptronic is weird, that option is really a must on every vehicle.

kung icocompare mo naman yan sa mga 7 seater na non turbo like xpander and the like na may low gear option panalo parin engine power output nyan when shifting to sports mode as down shifting option. uphill or down hill na matarik or need ng engine brake use sports mode as down shift to low gear.

pwede sports mode di lang naexplain ni reygan na using sports mode pwedeng gamitin as down shifting to low gear. sa ganyang turbo charged engine di mo na klangan ang manual mode basta may sports mode option. kinompqre nya cgro sa ibang turbo charged engine na may manual mode kaya di nya naisip yung sports mode. kung need ng engine brake use sports mode or down hill assist para safe.

Chinese manufacturers can sell their cars at competitive prices because of economies of scale. In 2022, 25 million vehicles were sold in china. Shipping a few thousand units to the Philippines and sell them at lower prices wont be a problem.

that's not the only reason, in Southeast Asia, they enjoy low tariffs compared to other car manufacturers such as those from Japan and Korea. Hence they can compete well on prices.

We all know for a fact that GAC builds Toyotas & Hondas in China, thus they somehow have this “good reputation” in terms of reliability. Now the question is for the actual GAC owners here in the 🇵🇭, how’s your overall ownership experience so far?

Prety amazing. I have a friend who have a emzoom while i opted for emkoo and we brought our GAC made units on same day. My friend have a toyota velos which he compared its build quality. For example the doors. He compare it with his emzoom to velos, which emzoom has a thicker and more solid build than velos.

GAC builds toyota and honda pero parts talaga ng toyota and honda ang gamit. but gac model car parts are GAC china. di mo mabibili ng ganyan kamura na turbo charged engine kung ang gamit nyan toyota parts or honda parts. 🙂

I have a Emkoo GL. Steep climb up and down a mountain road thru mountainaous part of mindanao and one of those trip is loaded with passenger and almost 300kg cargo. There was no complain by the driver. Plenty of grip and power.
