Thank you for the very informative video. I have done most of my felting by knitting a hat and then running it through the washer. Because a hat is more like a vessel could you mentioned some suggestions at the very end of your presentation. Are there any plans for other videos? I am experimenting with the artfelt paper until then. Your tutorial was great.

Excellent tutorial - thank you - Ican see how you can get the detail and beautiufl design elements that are more difficult to achieve iwth felted with soap and water. How do you join the paper together to make large pieces, or does hte paper come in different sizes? ALso it appears you have much less shrinkage.

+Marie Clark Although Artfelt® Paper looks just like some other interfacings that dissolve in water, Artfelt® Paper is quite different. This paper (which is not a fabric, as it is not woven) was specifically designed for this method of felting and is the only “dissolving” product available that dissolves ONLY with boiling water, not simply water. This is a very important distinction, as your piece needs to be wet to felt.

AWESOME class! i really appreciate your teaching ways. you are such a great teacher!!!!!!!!!! and seem so NICE!!! BUT the CAMERA MAN is really BAD! that needs to improve BIG TIME! i dont know if this person is a professional that is getting paid to do it or not, but he/she has no idea on how to film this type of video tutorials. he/she NEEDS to do up close shots AT THE PROPER TIME, which is almost ALL THE TIME. its something NECESSARY. otherwise, everything else is PERFECT!

Unfortunately, you didn't explain what "roving" was. That pretty much lost me. :(

+Cheryl64014 roving is carded wool that has not been spun into thread yet. There are different kinds; I know of 3. One is pencil (super thin with all fibers going in the same direction), regular roved fleece (loose thicker ropes with all fibers going in the same direction), and some that just comes in random tufts where the fibers are not going in the same direction.
