Nice to see a woman welder! Where can I get the magic ESAB 7018 prime? I have inquired about this at our local "big name" welding supply houses and none of them have heard of it, let alone stock it.

I see slag is harder to peel of. It needs a lot of work to clean it of. Is this typical for this electrodes ? Vertical weld was not so great (uneven and jerky moves), and overhead needs some skill but it was ok.

No the slag comes off easy if u do a good weld but it welds nice I just blame the welder herself

I heard ESAB is made in China. I don't support communism at any price point. Is it from China?
@parmorama4 жыл бұрын
Don’t believe the BS on Wikipedia, any one can login to it and edit it. ESAb is a Swedish company and they have a manufacturing plants in Gothenburg, Sweden & South Carolina, USA.

"The Rebel is designed and engineered in the USA and assembled in China." www.esabna.com/us/en/dare/rebel-faqs.cfm Some models of Esab models are made in China. For example Chinese "WTL" make some cheaper ESAB models. Nothing wrong about that. They are made with high quality control. Lot of products today are made in China... American Apple products are made in China... It is called globalization and free market. Why should that be a problem ? In fact Chines are also capitalists under the Communist "mask".

@@nikicamalezic5388 It is a problem because I do not support communist ideology. If I give communist governments my money and support then they proliferate and even undermine my own country, which has been occurring since America began normalizing trade with communist China. The Chinese people and business community would enjoy being free of communist regimes, ask those in Hong Kong or Taiwan. My own family escaped communist Hungary and I understand very well the ways of communists. My comment also does not suggest that I support globalization, but here we are with Western Civilization threatened, cultures devalued, and the middle class weekend. I support the Constitution of the United States, I support a strong middle class, I support quality products made in countries that support a strong middle class, I support business that has a strong relationship with the value of its community, employees, and customers. I do not support cheap at any cost, there is always a cost, pay today or tomorrow, possibly with your life in a war. Happy New Year and best wishes.

@@Ironpuha Happy New Year to You. I am from Europe and my Country was also Socialist country in part of my live, and now it is not. There is no "Communism" or "Democracy" but only people "on top" "selling" their propaganda to You to make profit out of You. You think that democracy is TWO very similar parties with very similar agenda and goals taking turns in government for 200 hundred years ? ONLY Money rules! Stick has two ends and it works in booth ways. US is, and was doing the same thing (and even worse) to the rest o the world to enforce "their way" with money, mussels, sponsored "coupe d'etat" or army force. China is promoting their way and influence through money and cheep mass production and investments. "Free market" was fine when worked in favor of US, but the table turned for the "West" and now it is not fine ? The "West" was stomping all over China in "Opium wars" and "boxer rebellions"...And that was fine? None country is self-sufficinet in economy; NOT US, NOT China, not anybody else and could not function in isolation because everything would be more expensive and unaffordable. In modern day Chinese got smarter and invest in their education, and mass production and gain lot of knowledge and "know-how" and they took advantage of a western greed. But this is talk about welding, and not politics or economy so I will stop now... ESAB make great machines, but I prefer EWM and Fronius and Lincoln maybe. BTW, Lincolns are made in Poland to. (I am not from Poland :))

@@nikicamalezic5388 Yes, the politics of being a man capable of being free are convoluted by money and power. I look at my 3 children and it breaks my heart that we will have to fight, it always ends in a war. I am looking closely at Fronius, the compact models are capable of running on our weak 120 volt outlets on long extended cords, 300 feet, roughly 100 meters. The portability of the unit looks great with the option to run at 240 volts. The units look very high quality. For heavy work I already have a large Miller welder from 40 years ago that still runs great for thick metals. I am teaching my sons welding and the presets really reduce the guesswork and I think that will attract them to welding and small projects, repairs, and fence builds. What part of Europe do you reside in?
