Hide and Seek is definitely Halloween material! It was originally released as an animated feature in South Korea, and was soon translated into English (look up Hide and Seek Lizz Robinett). And the story in the original animated cartoon is even creepier than it sounds like in the song! Lauren Paley was something of a Tik Tok sensation when she released her solo version of Hide and Seek (Ding Dong) a few years ago. While I don't know if she started the trend, she certainly helped it along by recording a number of songs in the stairwell to her apartment, which has some marvelous acoustics. Her recording was so popular on Tik Tok that she did the full song for KZbin, where it has nearly 3 million views. She recorded this song with The Bass Gang and VoicePlay in 2022, and both groups released it as their Halloween videos that year. The two versions have very different styles, with the VoicePlay one being somewhat more comedic, with the costumes and sets based on Disney's Haunted Mansion ride. The Bass Gang, while not following the original storyline, is definitely creepier IMO!
